Polygons are naturally-spawning shapes that dot the arena in Arras.io. They serve as regularly harvested, naturally occurring resources for score and XP and are an essential feature of the game. There are many types of Polygons and some are exclusive to certain gamemodes or have an extremely low chance to spawn. Most Polygons are passive and will aimlessly drift in circles, but certain types of Polygons have weapons equipped and can attack players. There are currently three types of Polygon systems in the game, four if counting Mutations.

Technical[]

Polygons are weaponless shapes that drift around in circles and can be destroyed for XP. Their only form of defense is their Body Damage, which is usually quite low. The exception to this are Crashers, Sentries, and Sentinels, as they are hostile Polygons that drift around until a target appears in their range, which then will start shooting their weapons at the said target and attempt to ram them. Hostile Polygons will be killed upon coming in contact with Maze Walls while regular, passive Polygons will take no damage when touching Maze Walls. Some Polygons, most notably larger and high-tier Polygons, have an additional resistance with shield.

Unlike Diep.io, Polygons can come in different size variants. When spawning, they appear to "grow" in size, increasing their stats before reaching full size. Usually, the larger the polygon, the more HP, shield, and XP it has. Polygons also have an ability to "absorb" XP from tanks that were killed by them. This means that even small or low-tier Polygons such as Squares or Triangles can reach an abnormally large size, especially in Growth where the size limits are removed.

Polygons are dependent in the interactions between players and their populations. Each arena has a limited amount of them, and they are also shown in the mini-map. When outside the Pentagon nest, polygons will almost always spawn as an egg polygon. They appear to bud off of each other when spawning and they tend not to stray too far from each other. Polygons over time will "evolve" into different, stronger kind of Polygons. For example, Squares become Triangles when enough triangles were killed. From there, some Triangles become Pentagons. Very rarely, Pentagons may grow into Betas or Alphas if enough time passes.

Normal Polygons[]

Eggs[]

Main article: Arras:Egg
ArrasLabyrinthEgg

Eggs are the most common Polygon in Arras.io. They are small white circles that spawn randomly in clusters only when the Square populations drop below normal or get annihilated, otherwise they don't spawn. Like most Polygons, they can have different size variants. They normally turn into Squares after 10-60 seconds after spawning, or very rarely into Triangles after 60-80 seconds. Although Eggs may be the weakest of the Polygons, they generally are not targeted by early tanks because of they giving a mere 5 XP. Eggs can be one shoted by a bullet, and are easily crushed by any tank that collides into it, since their HP is 0.0011 (literally 0). There is also the occurrence of the 1/100000 "Gem", a hexagonal-shaped bright blue egg that gives 2000 XP and usually spawns with other eggs. Eggs are 1/3 Polygons.

In Old Dreadnoughts there is a 1/2 chance of finding them.

Squares[]

Main article: Arras:Square
ArrasLabyrinthSquare

Squares are the second weakest and the second most common Polygons in Arras.io. They appear as small yellow-orange squares that spawn either on their own in rare occasions, or most commonly generate from Eggs. Like all Polygons, they vary in size, with some being only just bigger than an Egg and others nearing the size of a Triangle. They grow in size if they spawn from an egg and stopping at a random size variant. Squares are a nice option to farm XP in early game, since they drop 20 XP and are not that hard to kill. Occasionally, Squares become Triangles only when there is not enough of them in the arena. They usually take a couple of shots to kill if bullet stats are at a minimum, since their HP is 1, but otherwise they are relatively weak. Squares are 1/6 Polygons.

In Old Dreadnoughts there is a 1/3 chance of finding them.

Triangles[]

ArrasLabyrinthTriangle
Main article: Arras:Triangle

Triangles are the third weakest and third most common Polygon in Arras.io. They appear as small vermilion/light red triangles, and can either spawn on their own in rare occasions or from Squares. Like all Polygons, they vary in size, with some being only just bigger than an Egg and others nearing the size of a Pentagon. They have decuple the HP of squares (10 HP), but drop five times their XP (100 XP). Occasionally, Triangles become Pentagons only when there is not enough of them in the arena. Triangles are 1/12 Polygons.

In Old Dreadnoughts there is a 1/9 chance of finding them.

Pentagons[]

ArrasLabyrinthPentagon
Main article: Arras:Pentagon

Pentagons are the fourth strongest and fourth rarest Polygon in Arras.io. They appear as blue-violet pentagons and can either spawn on their own in rare occasions or from Triangles. Like all Polygons, they vary in size, with some being only just bigger than a triangle and others nearing the size of a Beta Pentagon. For a begginer, they can be fearsome foes, with their reward of 500 XP. They, like their Diep.io variant, are much stronger than their predecessors, with their HP being 75. Pentagons are 1/24 Polygons.

In Old Dreadnoughts there is a 1/20 chance of finding them.

Hexagons[]

ArrasLabyrinthHexagon
Main article: Arras:Hexagon

Hexagons are the strongest Polygon in Arras.io. They appear as medium-sized teal hexagons and spawn in the Pentagon Nest. Like all Polygons, they vary in size, with some being smaller than a Pentagon and others nearing the size of Rocks. Their HP is normally 200, and give a large amount of XP, 2.5k. Hexagons are 1/48 Polygons

Heptagon

Hexagons, Septagons, Octagons, and Nonagons (Old Dreadnoughts)[]

Hexagons are huge and pink. They spawn only in the Pentagon Nest. They give 25K XP and have 4K HP. Septagons are huge and green. They spawn only in the Pentagon Nest. They give 37.5K XP and have 6.5K HP. Octagons are huge and purple. They spawn only in the Pentagon Nest. They give 50K XP and have 9K HP. Nonagons are huge and grey. They spawn only in the Pentagon Nest. They give 200K XP and have 12K HP.

Beta Alpha and Omega Polygons[]

Beta Polygons[]

Beta Polygons give 5x the amount of XP, 5x the amount of HP, and is ~6.7x as rare as the normal version.

In Old Dreadnoughts there are only Beta Pentagons.

Alpha Polygons[]

Alpha Pentagons give 25x the amount of XP, 25x the amount of HP, and is ~11.1x as rare as the normal version.

In Old Dreadnoughts there are only Alpha Pentagons.

Hostile Polygons[]

Crashers[]

Crashers-0

Some Crashers.

Main article: Arras:Crashers

Crashers are a special kind of Polygon in Arras.io. They appear as small vivid pink triangles, and spawn in and around Polygon Nests to defend them. They attack by chasing after players.

Crashers vary in size. The smaller ones are faster but do less damage and have less health, and the bigger ones are slower but do more damage and have more health. Their Shield and XP reward adjust with size.

They are only in old dreadnoughts

Rare Polygons[]

ShinySquare

A Shiny Square, an example of a Rare Polygon.

Main article: Arras:Rare Polygons

Versions[]

Rare Polygons are, as they imply, extremely rare versions of regular Polygons. They have more health and XP than their normal variants, as well as having slightly larger size than regular Polygons. Polygons evolve into Rare Polygons. In Labyrinth/Old Dreadnoughts it is 1000x as common, besides Crasher Polygons.

Obstacles[]

ArrasShapes1-Rock&Gravel

Two obstacles, a "gravel" (smaller one) and a "rock" (bigger one).

Main article: Arras:Obstacles

Obstacles are completely immobile and invulnerable Polygons. The small ones are called Gravel and the large ones Rocks, they have no body damage and are indestructible. Gravels are heptagons (7 sides), Rocks are nonagons (9 sides). They exist permanently and appear in the corners of maps without maze walls.

Trivia[]

  • Polygons are unable to evolve if they have killed anything. To see if they have killed anything or not, check the scoreboard.
  • Polygons will take constant damage, like players, if they spawn wedged between walls.
    • Polygons used to instantly get destroyed if this happens before an update changed how walls worked. They also would instantly get destroyed if they touched an inverted corner of a maze, as that also counts as 2 walls.
  • Polygons may sometimes grow beyond their normal size if they somehow kill a tank that rams it.
