Last Fall (Autumn for heathens) we voted on Featured Videos for the Diep.io Wiki; we voted yes to getting them, but FANDOM gave us new info, so we voted again to postpone that until later. It’s been nearly a year, & we have some dire news, so “later” is right now.
The Bad Great News
FANDOM no longer has a 10-videos-per-Wiki-minimum, they instead do things per-page, meaning that we can no longer just ask for a video for Tiers & then get 9 more videos guaranteed. If we want a video for a page, that page needs views; unfortunately, only 5 pages remain with 1K+ views every week, & our numbers keep dropping. Since our first vote last October, our views overall have dropped by roughly 35%. The lower our views drop, the harder it becomes to get a Featured Video for any individual page. This means it’s now or never. New information indicates that any page can have a video, so long as a script is written for it.
The Good News
FANDOM is no longer willing to write scripts for Diep.io videos; this means that any video we get, we would be writing the script for it, giving us total control over video content. We could ensure that there are no inaccuracies in videos, only qualitative guides (as long as we put forth the effort to research & field good scripts).[1] FANDOM would handle footage, but we would be able to avoid the worst of the bad video quality that has been around in the past.
