The Cyclone is a Tier 4 Tank in Arras.io. It upgrades from the Gunner or Hexa Tank and does not upgrade further unless Arms Race is on.

Design[]

The Cyclone possesses twelve small cannons each spaced 30° away from each other. Each cannon is as thin as those of a Gunner, but they are also slightly shorter. All twelve cannons face outwards.

Technical[]

The Cyclone's cannons are arranged in groups of three cannons that are spaced 120° away from each other like those of a Flank Guard, making four groups of cannons in total. The Cyclone's firing sequence is as follows (cannons that are in the same triplet as the listed cannons fire at the same time as them, so they can be safely ignored): front cannon first, back cannon second, left cannon third, and right cannon fourth. Each cannon has the fire rate and accuracy of a Basic's sole cannon, while the bullets fired have the same size as a Gunner's bullets.

Strategy[]

  • Strong Against: Multiple low damage tanks, slow melee tanks, invisible tanks, Tri-Angle class
  • Weak Against: Focus Fire Spammer Tanks (like Mortar and Triplet), Factory, Certain Gunner-Branched Upgrades, Builder-Branched Tanks.

As the Cyclone[]

  • Combining autofire and autospin with this tank creates a wind of bullets that easily damages all nearby tanks and is difficult to defend against.
  • The Cyclone only fires one Bullet in each direction, so it usually will not be easy to combat high RoF tanks, such as the Sprayer or Triplet.
  • A very common strategy with Cyclones is "Cyclone Teaming", which is when lots of players on the same team all become Cyclones (some of them become Hurricanes, the others Glass) and create an impenetrable wall of bullets that can cripple any tank that comes near. Drone classes complement this strategy due to their low health and high damage output.
  • You can spin it around, causing 4 cannons to fire in the same direction.
  • You can use a ram build and kill rammers, they will think you bullets are weak without thinking of your body.

Against the Cyclone[]

  • Because of its weak bullets, it is incapable of defending itself against enemy fire, and its fire is so scattered that it is largely incapable of accurately hitting bullets, let alone destroying them. As such, tanks with a strong spreadfire or focused fire tanks are capable of effectively dealing with Cyclones.
  • Tri-angle-branch tanks can charge through the thin wall of bullets, damaging the Cyclone with its front bullet.

Trivia[]

  • The Cyclone was previously known as the Hurricane or Tornado.
    • In the early mockup builds, it had slightly wider cannons. This version of the Cyclone would become playable in Retrograde.
  • As like the Octo-tank build, the non-reload build for the Cyclone is called the Typhoon build.
