Siege, also known as Boss Event, is one of the Arras Game Modes. It was added on Saturday, May 9, 2020, and later removed on Sunday, May 17, 2020. However, because many people wanted to it being a normal game mode, this was readded on Thursday, June 23, 2020, with the name changed.

Mechanics

The game mode has many mechanics, the game starts with waves, every wave Bosses spawn, in order to move on to the next wave the player must kill all the Bosses that are alive, while defending the Sanctuaries at all costs. The first few waves starts with Elite Crashers and the Rogue Palisades, then Elite Skimmers, Summoners and Nest Keepers will arrive around later waves.

Around wave 16, a notification saying "The world tremors as the celestials are reborn anew!" appears, and after that, all variants of the Celestials (Paladin, Freyja and Zaphkiel), will begin to spawn. Polygons and Sentries will still spawn around the map. After surviving the 25 waves, a notification "YOUR TEAM HAS WON THE GAME!" appears and the arena closes. If the players failed to defend all of the Sanctuaries, a notification "YOUR TEAM LOST THE GAME!" will appear instead.

Boss Mode Map

The Boss mode map

The design of the map features a bumpy square made of Maze Walls with 4 red squares (AKA Red Bases) on the each side. Players can not pass the red bases but Bosses can. Ammunitions from players can also not get by the red area's.

Strategy

  • Press N to level up immediately so you can upgrade and fight bosses better.
  • When you see the boss, if it is locked on you move back so the boss will move forward and everyone can damage it.

Trivia

  • Unlike Bases on Team Modes, its red area deals a big damage to the player who entered it, instead of instantly killing it.
  • This game mode can hold up to 8 Bosses at once.
  • When the game mode came out, for a while Spikes could push each other out of the map (using "Spike bounce") and the Spikes can be freed from the area and then distract the bosses, potentially stopping waves from progressing.
    • These actions may have come from the belief, that the players are supposed to get out of the central zone.
  • This is the only game mode so far where the Healer can be accessed.
  • In this game mode, Bosses move with the specific pattern, instead of moving to the target.
