The Birthday Shape was a Polygon in Diep.io that had been added to celebrate Diep.io's 8th anniversary. It was a gigantic octagon that spawned in the center of the map, could not be killed, and rewarded the player with XP when shot at. Its colors were based off of the Team colors, which it constantly shifted between every second in a cycle of blue, red, purple, green, and then back to blue. It may have spawned in FFA, 2 Teams, 4 Teams, and Maze.
Strategy[]
Due to the fact that Birthday Shape could reward the player with an endless amount of score, approaching the birthday shape with high bullet penetration and bullet damage could be an easy way to level up to Level 45. Using a high reload tank, such as Battleship, Sprayer, Spread Shot, Streamliner, and Triplet were easy ways to keep your score going up into the millions.
In team modes, things could get extremely competitive. One team may have held control over "access" to the Birthday Shape. Often these teams may have had Octo Tanks and a variety of Trapper classes (often Tri-Trapper) as fortification. Seizing control required effort from the opposing team, usually bearing classes meant to penetrate defenses. Predator and Rocketeer were great choices to punch through and break down defenses or defend the Birthday Shape from the other team(s).
Trivia[]
- The Birthday Shape was the first entity added to celebrate a special event.
- Due to the unbound score that Birthday Shape could reward easy access to infinite score.
- Oddly enough, despite being a Polygon, it would damage anything.
- It dealt a minimal amount of contact damage (8 Hp).
