The Anaconda is a Tier 4 tank conceptualized by Onett4smash and contributed to by Raspbelle as part of the Defend the Center game mode, though this may also fit well into other game modes such as 2 Teams. It upgrades from the Overseer at level 45.
Design[]
The Anaconda spawns Segments, rectangular drones that trail behind the Anaconda. They each have their own spawner that can spawn another segment, as well as a cannon attached to it. A fully-formed Anaconda is the longest tank in the game by far.
The Anaconda's Spawner is very short and has three segments.
Technical[]
The Anaconda has one spawner behind it that spawns a chain of drones called segments. Each segment will spawn another segment behind it after some time based on the Reload stat. The maximum number of segments the Anaconda can have out is 10. All segments will follow the Anaconda's path exactly.
Each segment has their own health, which regenerates over time as normal, affected by the Health Regen stat. The speed of the segments is based on the Drone Speed stat, though it cannot be faster than the Anaconda's own Movement Speed stat. Each segment also has a cannon attached to it, which deals very little damage, but provides extra recoil; an Anaconda with many segments will be much faster than an Anaconda with none.
If a segment in the middle of an Anaconda chain is destroyed, the other segments behind it will speed up to re-attach and fill the gap.
Strategy[]
- Against tough tanks, the Anaconda is more of a support tank, blocking bullets with its segments. It is very hard to get kills against a group of enemies.
- Against weaker tanks with less firepower, the Anaconda is played by circling around enemies and trapping them, before smothering them with segments.
- Alternatively, the Anaconda can upgrade Max Health and Body Damage to serve as a rammer tank, using its segments to trap players but using its main body to deal the finishing blow via ramming. Do note that this means upgrading less Drone Health, making trapping enemies harder as they can fight their way out.
- Fast Anacondas can corner other tanks with good movement.
