The Atomizer is a Tier 4 tank conceptualized by Onett4smash and contributed to by Raspbelle as part of the Defend the Center game mode. It upgrades from the Smasher and Ramper at level 45.
Design[]
The Atomizer has a body similar to the Smasher's, but with five stacked Charge Cannons on top similar to the Streamliner's Cannons. It also has a gauge on its hull indicating its charge level. The small arrow moves across it as the charge increases, and when it lands on the yellow, it indicates a full charge and the Atomizer will start flashing.
Technical[]
The Atomizer builds up its charge by ramming into enemies, and gains extra charge with ram kills. It can only fire its cannons at full charge, and doing so releases a stream of fast, powerful bullets. Doing so depletes the charge back to zero. The Atomizer has 10 (15 due to the overleveling in Defend the Center) upgrades for each stat, similar to the Auto Smasher. Reload decreases the amount of charge required to fully charge the cannon.
The Atomizer can detect cloaked enemies.
Strategy[]
- The Atomizer's charge is valuable, so it should be spent on high-priority targets like bosses or for a quick boost when escaping deadly situations.
- Building charge is best done by ramming into groups of weak enemies and killing them.
- The Atomizer can be used as a primarily cannon-based tank rather than a rammer if enough points are used for bullet upgrades, though this will make the Atomizer worse at ramming.
- Alternatively, the Atomizer can be run as a rammer with an occasional, semi-powerful bullet burst. The bullets can be used for recoil rather than for damage.
