The Axolotl is one of the Tier 4 upgrades from Twin Flank. The Axolotl features two Cannons mounted on the front to act as front defense along with an extensive amount of rear cannons to act as back defense. The Axolotl may further upgrade into the Spam Flank. This tank was created by Toriellabella.

Design[]

The Axolotl features a circular body as a base. It features two Cannons mounted upon the front, side by side, in Twin fashion. Mounted upon the back is one singular Tank gun with two sets of four auxiliary cannons which are splayed in a fan-like formation, with length decreasing the more guns are added; This is similar to Spread Shot's cannon setup, just with the last two cannons removed.

From Twin Flank[]

Upon upgrading from Twin Flank, the Axolotl replaces the rear two guns with a fan of guns, similar to Spread Shot's cannon setup, just with the smallest two guns removed.

Technical[]

The Axolotl's two front guns both fire exactly like Twin's cannons; They both fire in sequence, one after the other, effectively doubling the firepower of a singular gun. The cannons mounted upon the back act exactly like a diminished version of Spread Shot. All nine of the guns fire at the same time, with the middle cannon having a larger bullet size than the cannons on the side.

Strategy[]

As the Axolotl[]

  • Tanks such as Rocketeer and Glider will have a hard time fending off against you, since their main form of attack relies on their auxiliary bullets hitting you from behind. Since you have an above average back defense, you can utilize that to protect yourself while you gun them down.
  • While battling tanks like Dreadnought, be sure to flip your tank around so you have a better chance at hitting their swarms while you move away from them. While it's entirely possible that you won't defeat them, this raises your own chance of survival.
  • When battling tanks such as Booster and Overangle, your bullets will protect you from them ramming you. Surprise attacks from the back can be blocked rather easily. One of Overangle's methods of attacking you is their tail of drones whipping you while boosting, but you can easily block that using your spread of rear bullets, allowing you to gun them down as they try to escape.
  • Due to your constant barrage of bullets, any enemy Time Machines will likely be caught in between the trails your bullets leave behind due to their time matrix ability. You can use this to your advantage to essentially trap a Time Machine, which will kill them off rather easily.

Against the Axolotl[]

  • Due to the immense FOV boost that Assassin branch tanks possess, along with their superior bullet speed, a tank such as Ranger or Seeker can take out an Axolotl from a distance without being seen that well. Predator can also utilize this using the zoom ability.
  • Tanks such as Triplet can overwhelm an Axolotl's firepower with ease! Just aim and fire and you'll defeat them before long.
  • Battleship and Dreadnought can utilize their swarms to fire around the Axolotl's main method of attack, letting their swarms hit the Axolotl's weak sides. Dreadnought is especially effective, since their drones can block the main barrage of bullets so that less damage is applied to it, although this means it'll take more time to actually kill the Axolotl.
  • While Rocketeer and Glider are mostly nullified from being able to hit you, Skimmer's bullet can deal chip damage to an Axolotl rather easily. Just aim for the side and let the auxiliary bullets do the work for you!

Trivia[]

  • This tank came to me in a dream, along with the Exploration gamemode.
  • This tank was one of the tanks revisited in Woomy Arras.
