The Dreadnought is one of the far too many Tier 4 upgrades from Overseer. The Dreadnought has the capacity to fire two types of drones; The ones found on Overseer and the swarming drones found on Battleship. The Dreadnought has no upgrades as of now. This tank was created by Toriellabella.
Design[]
The Dreadnought features a circular body as a base. Mounted upon the sides are two trapezoidal Drone Spawners. Layered over these are two inverted trapezoids which spawn Battleship's swarming drones.
From Overseer[]
Upon upgrading from Overseer, two inverted trapezoids are added upon the sides of the tank.
Technical[]
The Dreadnought's offensive capabilities come in two flavors, just like the world's worst brand of neapolitan ice cream that just has vanilla and strawberry. The first flavor, vanilla, comes in its normal Drones. These drones fires from the larger of the two types of barrels. They are used to run into your enemies by using left click, and they move away from the cursor on a right click. A Dreadnought can have a maximum of 6 of these drones. So they're just normal drones. They taste just fine. The second flavor, which is the Swarming Drones found on Battleship, is the strawberry. It's an out there taste but it's just familiar enough to be acceptable. These drones are far smaller and greater in number, and will die over time as to not overwhelm the server with indefinite drones. All of those tiny swarm drones are controllable, which makes it a fine addition to the bootleg neapolitan ice cream sandwich that is Dreadnought.
Strategy[]
- Strong Against: Other Drone classes, area denial tanks, Trapper branch tanks, Spammer branch tanks
- Weak Against: Destroyer branch tanks, Mega Smasher, focused fire tanks, MultiBox, Tri-Angle branch, Time Machine
As the Dreadnought[]
- Because of your unique combination of drones you can overwhelm most other drone classes, with Factory being the obvious exception. You can shred through other drone classes with your swarms and still actually have offensive output with your normal drones. Necromancer can be depleted with ease and then be dealt with easily with your main drones. Manager is an easy case to deal with, since you can do away with their drones, and figure out where they are based on where the new drones spawn.
- Tanks such as Octo Tank might not be an entirely obvious counter, but you can still deal with them. Your swarms do have the potential to weave between an Octo Tank's bullets and hit for some damage, while your main drones can use the swarms as a buffer to hit the tank itself.
- Tanks such as Mega Trapper can be defeated with ease. Since your swarms are fast and spawn from the side, they move in an arcing direction towards your mouse, and can arc around traps to hit the Mega Trapper. Sure, it's a slow death since your main drones will likely get stopped by the traps, but you can deal with Trappers in this way.
- The main strength of the Spammer class is focused fire. Despite this, a Dreadnought's swarms can still arc around the precise stream of bullets to hit the tank itself. While you will take substantial damage, you will still outlive most encounters with Streamliner and Automaton. The main threat from this branch would be Overspammer, due to its own drones having the capacity to arc around and hit you, but they can be dealt with by the swarms.
Against the Dreadnought[]
- Tanks such as Rocketeer can deal with a Dreadnought easily. All you have to do is aim around the tank and let your auxiliary bullets hit the Dreadnought from behind. Either it'll aim for you and get killed by your small bullets, or it will focus too much on the missile and get distracted, allowing you to swoop in for an easy kill.
- Mega Smasher is a big target. Intuitively one might think that it can be swept away easily, but it can't be. Due to a combination of it's enhanced size and speed, along with its body damage, it can soak up damage and reach the opposing Dreadnought before the Dreadnought can pick at it.
- Sprayer and Triplet can easily eat away at Dreadnought's swarms and can deal with the Drones the same way as they deal with Overlord. Due to the fact that Dreadnought only has 6 main drones instead of the usual 8, it can be dealt with easier and defeated way easier.
- Despite the strengths of the Dreadnought, tanks like Fighter and Time Machine can utilize their strafing abilities to disarm a Dreadnought with ease. Fighter can approach from the back and strafe to hit its blind spot, while Time Machine can utilize its Time Matrix mechanic to hit a Dreadnought in the past so it has less of a chance to actively be attacked.
Trivia[]
- This concept was the first one to completely lack an image when first created.
- This tank was one of the revisited concepts in Woomy Arras.
