The Firestarter is a Tier 4 tank conceptualized by Onett4smash and contributed to by Raspbelle as part of the Defend the Center game mode. It upgrades from the Heater at level 45.

Design[]

The Firestarter has a series of five overlapping Fire Cannons similar to the Streamliner. Each fire cannon is a slightly darker shade of orange than the last.

Technical[]

The Firestarter rapidly fires flaming bullets in a stream with no spread. Each bullet deals no damage whatsoever, but inflicts a weak burn. Uniquely, the Firestarter has no burn stack limit whatsoever, giving it a very high damage output when firing at an enemy nonstop and stacking lots of burn. Burn time is consistently the same and ignores burn stack, but refreshes every time a new stack of burn is added. The Burn Stack upgrade is now called Burn Time now only upgrades burn time, with a maximum upgrade of 10 seconds of burn time with full Burn Time upgrades. The Firestarter has slow speed and low recoil, and like all other Incendiary branch tanks, it has no bullet penetration. This means the Firestarter's bullets lose out to all enemy bullets, due to its lack of damage and bullet penetration.

The Firestarter can detect cloaked enemies.

Strategy[]

  • The Firestarter can focus fire a strong enemy and rack up very high amounts of damage.
    • It is required the Firestarter continuously fire at the enemy to stack up burn. If the Firestarter ceases fire for too long, the burn will wear off and reset.
    • Although it may be tempting to try and keep the beam on the enemy no matter what, the Firestarter is unable to defend itself against bullets due to the lack of penetration, damage and low speed. Firestarters should be careful when bursting down a boss, and move away from danger when needed.
      • It is fine to stop firing for a while to escape, since burn takes time to wear off. Upgrading Burn Time will make this easier.
  • Multiple Firestarters do not stack burn.
  • Against weak enemies, the Firestarter is less effective, but can still kill them with focus fire.
