The Flank Scope is a Tier 4 tank conceptualized by Onett4smash and contributed to by Raspbelle as part of the Defend the Center game mode. It upgrades from the Assassin, Flank Guard and Ramper at level 45.

Design

The Flank Scope has a small, normal Cannon on its back and a long, trapezoidal Charge Cannon on its front. Its charge level is shown on its hull.

Technical

The Flank Scope builds charge by dealing damage and killing enemies with its small cannon. This charges up its charge cannon. The charge cannon can be fired at any time past half charge, though its damage and speed still depend on its charge level, maxing out at full charge. Firing at any point between half and full charge will fire a half charge bullet. Firing the charge cannon uses the right mouse button, while firing the regular, small cannon uses the left mouse button. However, the small cannon faces the cursor and charge cannon faces away from the cursor, making aiming the charge cannon significantly more challenging.

The Flank Scope can detect cloaked enemies.

Strategy

• The Flank Scope should hang around groups of weak enemies that are easy to kill with its small cannon to build up charge. Afterwards, it can fire upon a stronger enemy to deal a lot of damage.
  • If there are no weak enemies nearby, the Flank Scope can shoot strong enemies with its small cannon to deal minor amounts of damage.
    • Kills charge more than just damage, making this less effective at charging up shots.
• The full charge of the Flank Scope is significantly stronger than its half charge. The half charge should only be used for emergencies, such as getaways.
  • The half charge has similar recoil to the full charge, making half charges more effective at traversal. It does necessitate going out of your way to charge it up by fighting weaker enemies, though.
