The Fumer is a Tier 4 tank conceptualized by Onett4smash and contributed to by Raspbelle as part of the Defend the Center game mode. It upgrades from the Poisoner and Trapper at level 45.
Design[]
A Poison Fume.
The Fumer has a wide, green trap launcher attached to its front. It resembles the Trapper's, but has a more complex shape. It spawns Poison Fumes, a trap variant that retains a similar shape, but is larger, green and has more points.
Technical[]
The Fumer spawns large poison fumes with a slow reload. Unlike poison puddles, these damage bullets that pass through it, while still taking no damage itself, allowing for better area denial. The fumes spawn in front of the Fumer and despawn after a while. Just like the Poisoner, the Fumer's Bullet Penetration stat is replaced by a different stat, now named Fume Time, and it increases the amount of time the fumes linger before despawning.
The Fumer can detect cloaked enemies.
Strategy[]
- The Fumer can defend teammates much like the other tanks in the Trapper branch. The fumes spawned are around as big as the Mega Trapper's traps, making them great for area denial.
- Do note that high penetration and speed bullets are more likely to pass through the Fumer's fumes than regular traps.
- The fumes also deal less damage to enemies themselves than regular traps upon collision, so tough enemies like bosses may be able to power through.
- Uniquely, however, this means that bosses and other aggressive enemies will still take a lot of damage from fumes, while they will avoid traps entirely, which means the Fumer is better offensively against bosses.
- The Fumer can stack fumes for increased damage against a particular target or to further reinforce an area.
- As the Fumer's fumes deal heavy damage but do not take damage themselves, they are a great way to clear traps from enemy Fallen Trappers.
