Hendre'ka is one of the thirteen Disciples of the Polygons, and he likes eating a lot. However, don't interrupt him while he's eating as he doesn't treat uninvited guests well. A powerhouse in his own right, his massive arsenal of bosses and Crashers are his personal recipe of doom. His favorite food is pasta.

Overview[]

Hendre'ka is one of the thirteen Disciples of the Polygons. He has a penchant for eating and represents the Hendecagons and every defender associated with them. Hendre'ka's Edifice lies in the southern part of Melancholy Forest, farther away from Imperium than Hexen's fortress and surrounded by an orchard in which he gathers food for his meals. His Edifice filled with hendecagon-based inhabitants and the keepers that await any intruders. They will be fought first before facing down the ruler of them all.

Design[]

Hendre'ka has a brown hendecagon body with a spawner on his bottom, with two that are half the side of his body to the left and right of him as hands, and two even smaller ones in between for arms that connect the hands to his body. One hand has a pair of dark gray hendecagon shells beneath it (only the bottom one rotates, see Hexen Poluxe), and an Auto Master Turret in the middle, on top of which is a Mortar turret. The Master turret spawns Summoner Squares, Pink Crashers and Red Runners, with each spawner creating one of the above three types. The whole weapon is called the Pancake Pulverizer. In his other hand, Hendre'ka holds a very long particle cannon with a hollow lengthy barrel ringed with circles. Due to its length, the cannon, named the Bon Appetit Cannon, can also be used as a sword. His body has a helmet similar to Ennealis's, but the sides come down almost the length of his body, a bit away from the spawner on his bottom. He has a hendecagon gem in the middle of his helmet, and the helmet itself has four Tri-Blade shaped extensions (only one lobe), 2 on either side of the gem sticking out upwards. These are a lighter gray than the helmet. He has a helmet protrusion atop his helmet on which the hendecagon gem is partially mounted, and a large barrel sticks slightly out of that protrusion like Hexen's Thorn Mine launcher.

Stats[]

Hendre'ka Particle Cannon

Hendre'ka's Bon Appetit Cannon.

Hendre'ka has a total HP of 67,500. He has a 35% resistance to damage, although this can decrease to 15% under some circumstances, even under the Broken debuff. Hendre'ka regenerates very slowly, 4 HP every second for all parts, regeneration does increase by 500% if left alone for over two minutes (though it's rare for that to happen).

Hendre'ka can summon various enemies, ranging from Hendecagons and Crashers to even a wide variety of bosses such as the Guardian, Summoner, Defender, Battle Carrier, Constructionist, Darter, NRG, and even Deltrablade and Engulfer. In Phase 2, Hendre'ka can summon boss entities.

The bottom spawner spawns 1 normal hendecagon every 3 seconds, with a maximum of 50. Occasionally, every 5-7 Hendecagons, 5-7 Tri-Blades OR 3-6 Red Runners will be created instead. In Phase 2, this expands with the addition of 8-12 Guardian Crashers OR 9-14 Summoner Squares, including the above. There is a maximum of 300 Crashers of any type, in the room at one time created by Hendre'ka's spawner. Neither limits apply to polygons and Crashers used in Hendre'ka's attacks.

(For reference, a Brown Hendecagon is about the size of a White Decagon, albeit slightly larger. It has no damage resistance, 1,200 health, 8 HP of body damage, and rewards 1,300 EXP on death.)

Hendre'ka's attacks are both reliant on the weapons he has and limited summoning abilities. Hendre'ka usually swarms his opponents, but also may occasionally sacrifice some of his Crashers by eating them to gain power and/or health. He does love eating...

The Fight[]

Phase 1[]

Hendre'ka Mortar-111

Hendre'ka's Pancake Pulverizer.

During this phase of the battle, he is in the center of the arena, staying still as more players join in. He is invulnerable during this phase. When enough players have joined, Hendre'ka stands up and speaks his one quote right after he makes his first and only attack, which blocks the exit with a load of mixed Crashers until he gets defeated. Polygons created by Hendre'ka will not reward any EXP.

Hendre'ka is invulnerable during Phase 1, and only when his hands' HP reach 0 will cause Hendre'ka to enter Phase 2. The hands that are "destroyed" lose all of their weapons and become invulnerable, but useless. Attacks that require the weapons will be disabled.

  • Full Course: Hendre'ka summons a mixed load of 150 Crashers that he can spawn in various amounts that block up the exit. They bounce players back and deal no damage, preventing entry and exit into and from the battle room.

I'm hungry for battle!

  • Crasher Spiral: Hendre'ka summons 15-20 of each Crasher type (the number is same for all types) from his Master weapon's spawners, spinning it around as Summoner Squares, Pink Crashers, and level 2 Red Runners come flying out in a spiral formation. After 3 seconds of being spawned, they break away and attack players of their own accord.
  • Sky Strike: Hendre'ka points his cannon up toward the sky and launches off five high-power electrified-bullets. Five targets will appear on top of players 3 seconds prior to impact. The bullets inflict low knockback and high damage and have a fairly wide splash radius that inflicts medium-low damage.
  • Blade Rotator: Hendre'ka's Tri-Blade lobes start spinning as he charges up something inside his spawner, which starts shaking. Five seconds later, a clump of 15 XL Triblades pops out, fired at the nearest player. Upon impact, the Tri-Blades become individuals again and chase down players, although due to their slow speed, they are fairly easy to kill.
  • Intake Pulse: Hendre'ka opens his mouth and sucks everything that is in front of him at medium range toward his gaping mouth. Any hendecagons will not be pulled in, but Crashers, ammunition, and tanks will be. After 15 seconds of eating, Hendre'ka will stop sucking in and close his mouth, spit out any tanks that were accidentally sucked in, and heal for 50 * n HP, where n is the number of Crashers he sucked up. However, small traps that he ate will hurt him for 50 HP, and large traps will hurt him for 150 HP. Other ammunition that he has eaten, including drones and bombs, will not hurt him. Tanks that have been spat out are dealt medium damage and inflicted with Slowed for 6 seconds.
  • Blunt Punch: Hendre'ka smashes forward with his armored hand, inflicting medium impact damage in a large area. Damage scales higher towards the epicenter of the impact.
  • Delicious Blast: Hendre'ka spins his Master weapon rapidly to unleash 50 Crashers of mixed type that fly into his spawner, and then blasted out at high speed that causes them to explode at whatever they hit, destroying the Crashers and dealing very high damage in a large area.
  • Crasher Punch: Hendre'ka smashes a player with his armored hand like Blunt Punch, but dealing lower damage and causing 10 Pink Crashers to spawn at their location and swarm them.
  • Sizzling Coils: Hendre'ka activates his sword/cannon's heated coil mode, and its coils start glowing orange. Any attacks he performs with the sword for the next 45 seconds will inflict 125% more damage and inflict Burning for 3 seconds.
  • Supercooled Coils: Like Sizzling Coils, except without the damage buff and it inflicts Slowed for 5 seconds and lasts for 60 seconds instead.
  • Gauss Bolt: Hendre'ka fires off a bullet that moves back and forth between the ends of his barrel, becoming faster as it bounces back and forth. He releases it and almost in an instant, the player that was targeted is inflicted with Paralyzed for 7 seconds and high damage.
  • Plasma Cannon: Hendre'ka fires a wave of superheated plasma from his cannon in a cone with a radius of 10 tiles, inflicting very high scaled damage and Burning for 10 seconds.
  • Mortar Volley: Hendre'ka fires off 15-20 Mortar shots from his Mortar turret in rapid succession that do medium-low area damage.
  • Burnt Cookies: Low chance to happen during Phase 1. An oven in the corner of Hendre'ka's room starts burning and black smoke starts to fly out of it. It explodes, sending shards of oven everywhere and dealing high damage to players who were too close.
  • Chopping Board: Hendre'ka energizes his blade with electricity and smashes it into players repeatedly, dealing high damage and inflicting Broken for 5 seconds afterward.
  • Slash: Hendre'ka slashes his sword back and forth, a simple attack that deals medium damage without any additional effects.
  • Gas Bomb: Hendre'ka fires off a massive bullet from his head cannon that explodes above a large group of players, inflicting them with Poisoned for 4 seconds.
  • Food Poisoning: Hendre'ka pulls out a plate of pasta, gobbles up all the pasta in one big gulp, and smashes the dish on a player. That player gets slobbered with Hendre'ka's unique saliva, inflicting on them Blinded and Burned for 20 and 5 seconds respectively. Only used once.

Phase 2[]

When Hendre'ka's hands are disabled, he enters Phase 2. Hendre'ka moves 20% faster and teleports into the center of the arena at the very beginning of Phase 2. The armor on his spawner hand shatters and disappears. Bullets fired at the hands will go through them. He still retains the use of his sword, but his spawner hand is disabled.

Hendre'ka can now summon the Guardian, Summoner, Defender, Battle Carrier, Constructionist, Deltrablade, NRG, Darter, and Engulfer. During a boss summon, Hendre'ka will be invulnerable until the boss/bosses die. He cannot attack while a boss is in session. After the boss dies, Hendre'ka will resume attacking until the loss of 6,000 HP has been reached. For every 6,000 HP lost, Hendre'ka will summon a boss or multiple bosses as the following:

Boss Spawning Order[]

  • At 36,900 HP: Guardian or Summoner or Defender
  • At 30,900 HP: Battle Carrier or Constructionist or Deltrablade
  • At 24,900 HP: Two Guardians + Constructionist or Two Summoners + Deltrablade or Two Defenders + Battle Carrier or Engulfer
  • At 18,900 HP: Engulfer and Guardian or Summoner or Defender or NRG
  • At 12,900 HP: Two Battle Carriers + Three Guardians or Two Summoners + Three Constructionists or Three Deltrablades + Two Defenders or Two Engulfers + Darter
  • At 6,900 HP: Four Battle Carriers or Six Constructionists or Five Deltrablades or Three Engulfers + Two Darters or NRG
  • At 900 HP: Guardian, Summoner, Defender, Battle Carrier, Constructionist, Deltrablade, Darter, NRG, Engulfer.

Attacks[]

  • Energy Burst: Hendrek'a gains Frenzy for 10 seconds after killing a player in Phase 2. This passive effect stacks up to 3 times for 30 seconds, and each time before 3 that a player is killed, the Frenzy effect timer will reset with 10 seconds added to the clock. However, once it reaches 30 seconds, the next kill will no longer reset a Frenzy timer, nor will it add more. Once the effect runs out, it will not be activated for another 60 seconds.
  • Crasher Spiral II: Hendre'ka summons 25-30 of each Crasher type (the number is same for all types) from his main body spawner, spinning it around as Summoner Squares, Pink Crashers, and level 2 Red Runners come flying out in a spiral formation. After 2.5 seconds of being spawned, they break away and attack players of their own accord.
  • Sky Strike II: Hendre'ka points his cannon up toward the sky and launches off seven high-power electrified-bullets. Seven targets will appear on top of players 3 seconds prior to impact. The bullets inflict low knockback and high damage and have a slightly wider splash radius than before that inflicts medium damage.
  • Blade Rotator II: Hendre'ka's Tri-Blade lobes start spinning as he charges up something inside his spawner, which starts shaking. Five seconds later, a clump of 23 XL Triblades pops out, fired at the nearest player. Upon impact, the Tri-Blades become individuals again and chase down players, although due to their slow speed, they are fairly easy to kill.
  • Intake Pulse II: Hendre'ka opens his mouth and sucks everything that is in front of him at medium range toward his gaping mouth. Any hendecagons will not be pulled in, but Crashers, ammunition, and tanks will be. After 15 seconds of eating, Hendre'ka will stop sucking in and close his mouth, spit out any tanks that were accidentally sucked in, and heal for 75 * n HP, where n is the number of Crashers he sucked up. However, small traps that he ate will hurt him for 50 HP, and large traps will hurt him for 150 HP. Other ammunition that he has eaten, including drones and bombs, will not hurt him. Tanks that have been spat out are dealt medium damage and inflicted with Slowed for 7 seconds.
  • Sizzling Coils II: Hendre'ka activates his sword/cannon's heated coil mode, and its coils start glowing orange. Any attacks he performs with the sword for the next 70 seconds will inflict 150% more damage and inflict Burning for 5 seconds.
  • Supercooled Coils II: Like Sizzling Coils II, except without the damage buff and it inflicts Slowed for 7 seconds and lasts for 90 seconds instead.
  • Gauss Bolt II: Hendre'ka fires off a bullet that moves back and forth between the ends of his barrel, becoming faster as it bounces back and forth. He releases it and almost in an instant, the player that was targeted is inflicted with Paralyzed for 12 seconds and very high damage, but it will not kill them.
  • Plasma Cannon II: Hendre'ka fires a wave of superheated plasma from his cannon in a cone with a radius of 15 tiles, inflicting very high scaled damage and Burning for 12 seconds.
  • Mortar Volley II: Hendre'ka fires off 25-30 Mortar shots from his Mortar turret in rapid succession that do medium area damage in a large radius than before.
  • Chopping Board II: Hendre'ka energizes his blade with electricity and smashes it into players repeatedly, dealing high damage and inflicting Broken for 7 seconds afterward.
  • Slash II: Hendre'ka slashes his sword back and forth, but on contact, it deals Paralyzed for 2 seconds and inflicts medium damage.
  • Gas Bomb II: Hendre'ka fires off a massive bullet from his head cannon that explodes above a large group of players, inflicting them with Poisoned for 6 seconds.
  • Burn Laser: Hendre'ka releases a thick laser beam that he sweeps back and forth from his cannon, dealing high damage and inflicting Burning for 5 seconds.
  • Target Strike: Hendre'ka locks onto 5 players and releases 5 large bullets from his helmet cannon that deal high area damage.
  • Break Bolt: Hendre'ka fires off a blindingly fast laser that penetrates up to 10 players, inflicting Paralyzed for 5 seconds on all targets hit.
  • Echoing Deterrence: Hendre'ka gains a blue shield around himself that absorbs and reflects 50% of damage back at players that deal damage to him, through any method. This shield lasts for 15 seconds, so it is important for players not to damage Hendre'ka. Once the shield is up, Hendre'ka actually heals for whatever damage was absorbed. He can use this an unlimited amount of times, but only below 12,900 HP.

Hendre'ka's Last Course (Death Phase)[]

When Hendre'ka reaches the 900 HP mark, and after the bosses are defeated, he initiates his final phase. He starts summoning endless waves of Crashers, increasing the number of Crashers spawned every second by 1, starting with 5. It is necessary for players to burn down Hendre'ka's HP as fast as they can before getting swarmed.

The Crashers from the first attack are released from the entryway and move off to chase players. If every tank present during Hendre'ka's final moment has died, he will remain in the arena, tired and worn out from his use of attacks. He remains silent as the screen fades.

However, if Hendre'ka's HP finally reaches 0, he kneels down and white cracks begin forming all around his body, any Hendecagon in range around him starts to lose their color, turning into shades of gray. Hendre'ka then suddenly vaporizes with a white flash on the screen, leaving only his helmet and burnt cannon behind on top of a pile of ash. All hendecagons and polygons associated with them with a huge radius around the death of Hendre'ka will have halved HP and resistances. Any hendecagon-based bosses/mini-bosses that were present near the fortress where Hendre'ka has been defeated will greatly reduce in HP and Resistances, and Superior Hendedcagon nests will stop spawning hendecagons for a long time around its destruction area...

Introduction During Battle[]

  • "I see you little tapas have come to join me for dinner. You are uninvited guests, but guests nonetheless. However, you barged into my home, wrecked the walls, and stained the carpet with the blood of my people! Do you always treat your host's home like this? Thus, I will treat you to an appetizer of Crashers, and the main course will be ME! Face the master chef, you pint-sized dinner plates!"

Trivia[]

  • The thing about the EToD Polygon Disciples is that they are alternative depictions of them made possible by the EToD, which changes many aspects of the main story. In the mainstream Tale of Diep, they are mentioned in the lore but make no appearance in the game whatsoever, and their true names and designs are never mentioned or revealed by anyone, not even the other Polygon Disciples. The story here is that they were corrupted in the wake of Panzer's defeat, and had to be killed off to prevent the corruption from spreading, with their remaining power shared between the remaining eight Disciples. Nobody makes any mention of this, but it explains why Decratite can spawn Hendecagon and Dodecagon Quasars. The other three just weren't there in the first place and were added to bridge the gap between Pentadecagons and Dodecagons.
  • Hendre'ka's fight is similar to Perpendiculus in that he utilizes lots of swarms, but with added bulk.
