This article is about the re-imagined Mega Smasher concept by Toriellabella. For the Diep.io equivalent, see Mega Smasher.
The Mega Smasher is one of the Tier 4 upgrade options from Smasher. The Mega Smasher is one of a few tanks to have no weapons mounted upon it, having to rely on buffed bodily stats to attack. The Mega Smasher also has a new stat that controls the size of its body. The Mega Smasher has no upgrades as of now. This tank was re-imagined by Toriellabella.
Design[]
The Mega Smasher features a circular body as a base. Layered under this base is a black hexagon that is slightly larger than the base itself. In-game, this hexagon automatically spins at a slow pace.
From Smasher[]
Upon upgrading from Smasher, the shell appears to increase in size by around 1.13 times the shell's original size.
Technical[]
The Mega Smasher lacks any ranged offensive capability. Due to this, the Mega Smasher is a slow ramming tank, similar to other tanks in its parent branch. You only have access to four stats; Health Regeneration, Max Health, Body Size, and Movement Speed. Despite the potential misnomer of the name, the "Body Size" stat also affects Body Damage. Each of these stats can be upgraded to have a maximum of 10 points instead of the usual maximum of 7 points. The size of the Mega Smasher at its lowest is the same as a normal level 45 tank. The Mega Smasher's size at its highest is about 1.16 times the size of a level 45 tank, placing you directly at the size a level 60 tank would be if size had kept increasing. Each stat point increases the Mega Smasher's size evenly between these two extremes.
Strategy[]
- Strong Against: Slow tanks, tanks that have low reload, area denial tanks
- Weak Against: Tri-Angle branch, tanks with high damage per second outputs, Overseer branch
As the Mega Smasher[]
- If you have enough of a speed stat, you can easily overwhelm slow tanks. Tanks such as Ranger, if dealt with up close, are easily defeated. This can be done easily with your bulky size.
- Any kind of unfocused tank, such as Octo Tank, Triple Twin, or Battleship can be quickly rushed by a fast Mega Smasher; Despite the class' main gimmick being its extra size stat, speed is your friend here on the battlefield.
- If you are dealing with any tank in the Destroyer branch, keep your distance; Their bullets can easily hit you and ruin your run.
- If you are dealing with any Overseer branch class, be sure that their drones are depleted before you rush in. You can easily kill a defenseless Necromancer or Overlord.
Against the Mega Smasher[]
- Due to your increased size, the Mega Smasher can soak up damage like a sponge. If you're a Spread Shot or an Auto Gunner and you have enough speed to out maneuver a Mega Smasher, you can easily defeat them.
- If you're a drone user, such as a Necromancer or even a Hybrid, you can easily overwhelm a Mega Smasher; Due to their bigger size, they're a bigger target.
- Factory is a very good choice due to the fact you can use your already distant drones to attack from the distance.
- If you're a Trapper branch tank, especially Tri-Trapper, you can deal with Mega Smashers quite easily.
- One good way to defeat a Mega Smasher is to ensure it doesn't know where it is, so it can't run into you. A good way to ensure this is to play as Manager or Stalker. Manager is the better option, since you can store your drones without getting hurt. Stalker is good as well due to its increased FOV, but you'll need to be extra careful.
- An enemy Spike can easily ram themselves into you. Due to Spike's extra damage and Mega Smasher's extra bulky size, a Mega Smasher is far less likely to survive a collision.
- Fighter in particular can do well against a Mega Smasher, due to its ability to strafe.
Trivia[]
- This tank is a reworking of Diep's removed Mega Smasher.
- The resizing idea is an old concept I had from back in 2016.
- This page only exists due to the fact I was salty that Mega Smasher was removed.
