IMPORTANT: NONE OF THE THINGS ON THIS PAGE ARE CANON TO THE TALE OF DIEP. THEY ARE ALL PART OF THE EXTENDED TALE OF DIEP, BUT WERE BASED ON IDEAS THAT WERE LEFT IN AN INCOMPLETE STATE IN THE TALE OF DIEP.
This page is a catch-all repository for putting up ideas that were never finished in the Tale of Diep, but are considered necessary to be fleshed out for the story of the Extended Tale of Diep to make sense in a given area.
Original page: Quasars
Changes from the Tale of Diep: Base concept remains the same. Additional 3 Quasars for Tridecagons, Tetradecagons, and Pentadecagons. Other notes: Introduction, Origin, and Technical sections originally by Graviatar. Actual Quasars adapted by Diepmon based on Graviatar's ideas.
Quasars are powerful polygons which are based upon the respective breed of a polygon. They are generally identified by their comet-like appearance, often pointed near the back and with an elaborate body shape. There are 13 varieties of Quasars, each based on the eight frequent polygons and the five infrequent polygons (squares through pentadecagons.) All quasars share similar properties such as white-colored ammunition, an after-image effect while moving, and sharing similar design traits.
Quasars were created by Decratite, the disciple of the Decagons. They are made partially from the essence of each the disciple's incorporeal form into a tangible form. Although records of them first appearing is currently unknown, it is speculated that they were created just after the end of the Dormancy Period, where the Realm was repopulated and the disciples descended from their sub-realm. The extraordinary thing about them is that they take the form of the same symbol found in each of the disciples' banners. Upon their creation, Decratite managed to save his colonies with a brand new variety that further protected not only his own, but other disciples' colonies as well. Many of the quasars are created in collaboration with the other disciples.
Yet the many good things about them fell drastically when Decratite used the very same essence that was used to create quasars to form a semi-spectral guardian with powers greater than the disciples themselves, which unfortunately gone rogue and began destroying many well-established safe havens. Ever since, many of the disciples have refused to support Decratite after this tragic accident.
All Quasars are immune to the Paralyzed and Slowed debuffs, and have a 35% resistance to damage. Certain Quasars have their own immunities and additional traits, with eah being able to inflict their own debuffs depending on the type.
All types of Quasars have an equal chance to spawn in Decagon Nests, making it a very dangerous place to be alone. However, they are relatively uncommon. They can also spawn very rarely in the type of nest that they represent (with a 1/100 chance to replace another normal Crasher spawn) but only in Superior Nests. Since all polygons in the EToD have Superior variant nests, Quasars can spawn in all of them.
Square (Tetrane) Quasar
|HP||Body Damage||Attack Methods||Nest Spawns|
|750||15 HP||Spawns white Sentry Squares||Square (rarely), Decagon|
Square Quasars protect the numerous Squares. They move rather quickly, skirting past players while spawning a white Sentry Square every 12 seconds behind them in a small, bright flash of light. The Sentry Squares spawned by a Square Quasar will get into groups like Factory Minions and chase down players, and each have 110 health. A Square Quasar's 750 health, slightly more than a Vis Destructica's (which has 715 HP) means that it can amass an army of Sentry Squares to protect itself and its brethren if not dispatched quickly. The Sentry Squares will disappear after a 120-second lifetime, regardless of their current health, effectively limiting each Square Quasar to 10 sentries. Square Quasars will try to avoid crashing into things (they move as fast as a Green Runner, which is twice the speed of a large Pink Crasher,) but in the event that one does, it deals 15 HP of body damage.
Triangle (Tryene) Quasar
|HP||Body Damage||Attack Methods||Nest Spawns|
|810||30 HP||Spawns white small Tri-Blades and Swarm Seekers||Triangle (rarely), Decagon|
Triangle Quasars have a dash ability that allows them to weave between obstacles with high bursts of speed that allow them to travel up to 4 times the speed of a large Pink Crasher for 1.5 seconds. They will often smash into players indirectly, always dealing 30 HP of damage while glancing off at an angle, taking no body damage in the process to themselves. They have two other attacks, these being spawning a set of 3 small Tri-Blades or 6 Swarm Seekers. There is a limit of 12 Tri-Blades and 24 Swarm Seekers per Triangle Quasar.
