We see them as defenseless beings, however in recent times our ideas of them being so hapless has diminished over centuries after the eight monarchs carefully developed the protectors of these sided creatures' dwellings.

Overview[]

Nest Defenders are a specialized class of polygons that exist only when polygon nests are in existence. Unlike their close realities - Polygon Bosses. They are considered the Mini Bosses of the nests. They often reward lots of EXP, and some may be challenging to fight, possibly more so then some bosses. Nest Defenders like bosses are based on their polygon type, however some can be completely unique in design (like Red Guard, or Hexo-Head), yet still related.

Technical[]

Spawning[]

Nest Defenders will spawn usually within the area of a polygon nest. They couldn't wander away due to their behavior, only exception is if the Messenger is present. Should one be killed, it will take 3-5 minutes for the nest to respawn a new one.

A typical Superior Polygon Nest will have around a max of 5 Nest Defenders, while Inferiors will have a max of 2. Polygon bosses present towards either will always slow down the respawn rates of these particular enemies, for balancing. Other bosses will not effect this property.

Depending on the frequent polygon type, various nest defenders will spawn according to it. For example, a Square Nest will always have Square-based Nest Defenders. However there is also a small chance for a particular nest defender to appear in the nest not matching to the polygon type that their based off, this is a phenomena that is directly related to how the Disciples support each other. However this only effects the way Nest Defenders spawn. Polygon bosses, crasher variants, and other miscellaneous polygonal entities are unchanged.

Some Nest Defenders can be summoned by other polygon bosses, like the Battle Carrier or Warship. During battles against Polygon Disciples, they can summon many Nest Defenders in certain attacks or waves.

Behavior[]

Nest Defenders will immediately become hostile to any player if any polygon with their alpha and beta variants, crasher, or other Nest Defenders gets attacked. They generally will try to closely follow players and force them away from then nest, and then returning when it lures itself too far. Many Nest Defenders will flee back towards safety if they are injured, only attacking if capable from a distance when players are within the nest.

Nest Defender Types[]

The Nest Defenders are separated in categories depending on their background polygon type.

This page is still under construction.

Square Nest Defenders[]

Hexagon Nest Defenders will rarely spawn within a Square nest.

Quadral Square[]

Diep.io NestDefender Quadral
HP Weapon(s) Attack Types EXP Nest Spawns
1,000 Auto Cannon(4) Bullets 3,500 Square, Heptagon

Quadral Square is one of four square Nest Defenders found in mainly square nests. Occasionally this guy can spawn in heptagon nests. It has the same coloration as Summoner Squares. Four auto cannons are evenly placed on four sides of the body. This mini-boss will rapidly fire small moderately fast bullets with mild damage and medium-high penetration. It reloads approximately the same rate as Auto-3 and Auto-5 tank classes with no upgrades. Each cannon has the same visibility as a level 15 tank.

Quadral Square will move slowly around the inside of the nest when idle. It has a passive auto-rotation. When fighting, it will drift around keeping its distance while firing its cannons. It will follow a target tank until it gets too far from the main nest. It will be harmless to tanks below level 10, however if a tank destroys any polygon in its vision, it will retaliate.

Destroying this mini-boss is fairly easy as it is a polygon counterpart of an Auto Tank.

Quadral Square moves twice as fast as a normal drifting polygon. It has 1,000 HP. It will deal 13 HP of body damage per hit.

.

Summoner Lite[]

Diep.io NestDefender Summoner Lite
HP Weapon(s) Attack Types EXP Nest Spawns
1,000 Spawner(3) Swarm Squares 3,500 Square, Heptagon

Summoner Lite is one of four square Nest Defenders found in mainly square nests. Occasionally this guy may spawn in heptagon nests. It has the same coloration as Summoner Squares. Three spawners a placed on three sides of the body. This mini-boss will rapidly produce small Swarm Squares, which none will not reward any EXP when destroyed. Summoner Lite can produce up to 26 of these drones. These drones have the same stats as the crasher-counterpart. Like the Summoner they will cluster in groups and chase the player. Upon getting too far, the drones will return the the mini-boss and encircle it. Unlike the Summoner, it attacks in a slightly different way, as it recoils slightly because of the massive drone spawning, it often chases players through creating large quantities of drones.

By itself it will move slowly around inside the nest when idle. It rotates slowly until it sees an enemy nearby. It will follow a target tank until it gets too far from the main nest. It will be harmless to tanks below level 10, however if a tank destroys any polygon in its vision, it will retaliate.

Summoner Lite moves twice as fast as a normal drifting polygon. It has 1,000 HP. It will deal 13 HP of body damage per hit.

Battle Square[]

HP Weapon(s) Attack Types EXP Nest Spawns
1,000 Partisan Spawner(4) Swarm Seekers 3,500 Square, Heptagon

Battle Square is one of four square Nest Defenders found mainly in square nests. Occasionally this guy may spawn in heptagon nests. Like other square Nest Defenders, it has same kind of body shape as the others. It has four Battleship-like spawners placed on two sides

Very much like the Battleship tank class, it will rapidly produce tiny orange colored Swarm Seeker drones, which doesn't reward any EXP when destroyed. These drone shave the same stats as the crasher-counterpart. Battle Square can produce an unlimited amount of drones, but each drone has a short lifespan of 8 seconds. Unlike other drones, these will chase the player regardless of distance until they either crash into something or vanish on their own.

Battle Square will move slowly within the nest when idle. It rotates slowly until it sees an enemy nearby. It will follow a target tank until it gets too far from the main nest. It's harmless to tanks below level 10, will retaliate if a player destroys a polygon within its range regardless.

Battle Square moves twice as fast as a normal drifting polygon. It has 1,000 HP.  It will deal 13 HP of body damage per hit.

Elite Sentry[]

HP Weapon(s) Attack Types EXP Nest Spawns
1,500 Barrel, Partisan Spawner(3) Swarm Seekers 5,000 Square, Heptagon

Elite Sentry is one of four square Nest Defenders found mainly in square nests. Occasionally this guy may spawn in heptagon nest. Like other square Nest Defenders, it has the same body shape as a Summoner Square. Three Battesship-like spawners are placed on thee sides, while a larger version of the cannon found on normal Sentry Squares.

The spawners produce orange-colored Swarm Seeker drones, however it's in a lower rate compared to the Battle Square. Each drone has the same stats as the crasher-counterpart. Like the Battle Square, it can produce an unlimited amount of them but each drone has a lifespan of 8 seconds. Unlike other drones, these will chase the player regardless of distance until they either crash into something or vanish on their own.

The front cannon will fire a strong bullet with better stats than ones fired by the Sentry Square. It has noticeably more penetration, damage, and speed. Elite Sentry often will shoot at stronger tanks.

It will move slowly within the nest when idle. It rotates slowly until it sees an enemy nearby. It will follow a target tank until it gets too far from the main nest. It's harmless to tanks below level 10, will retaliate if a player destroys a polygon within its range regardless. Players should be more cautious when encountering an Elite Sentry.

Elite Sentry moves twice as fast as a normal drifting polygon. It has 1,500 HP and will regenerate 3 HP per second. It will deal 16 HP of body damage per hit.
