He lives at the end of the world, on the tallest mountain of the Neverest Mountain Range, not far from the mad doctor's laboratory and the one who leads the purple polygons. The last of a race of beings known as Titans, he initially isolated himself early in the Panzer Era. Sometimes, he journeys down from his cave and enters the Arena, just to crush the little tanks for fun. The Cult all but stays away from him, as does anything else that even catches a glimpse. But don't even try to fight him... he might just end up stepping on you.

Olympus is a Realm Boss in The Extended Tale of Diep that spawns under very certain conditions. Idea by Diepmon.

Design[]

Olympus is a massive medium tan/clay tank with moss growing on it in some places, although sparsely. He has two hands with arms connected to the body, and one hand has an Annihilator barrel with a Mega Trapper launcher opposite it, while the other has a barrel setup with a Stalker barrel and a flat trapezoid on its end with a smaller normal barrel sticking out of it like a Sprayer's (this will be called the Blaster weapon); and a Vacuum barrel opposite it. Look at Royale to see what this looks like. Olympus has one laser pod eye and one normal eye, the laser pod eye like Dr. Lacus's robo scouter thing (over a normal eye.) He has 4 barrels on his back, arranged like a Fighter with the side two angled backwards and placed farther back as well. All barrels are Sprayer barrels, and on the bottom of his body is a drone spawner with a base, like on the Battle Carrier. Note that the bottom of his body is actually a rectangular indentation into the circle, as to make room for that drone spawner with armor. The Sprayer barrels also have some detail in them in terms of lines and lighter gray metal armor, and occasionally release aesthetic fire effects from them.

Event & Spawning Conditions[]

Olympus does not spawn in the Neverest Mountains, even though that is his home. Rather, each day he has a 1/25 chance to appear in a 4 Teams server in the Arena in the form of a Fortress-like structure, but it is usually much wider and occurs at the bottom of the map instead. When this occurs, all tiles in that Arena server become mud brown colored, which is purely aesthetic and has no effect on gameplay. A Realm-wide notification is sent out, with the Arena server selection in the lobby showing which server Olympus has appeared in. The server in which Olympus spawned in will increase its capacity to 500 players, to allow the battle to take place. Upon entering Olympus's fortress, the first thing players will notice is Olympus himself, waiting for challengers to approach. However, he remains Invincible until at least 170 players come into the room, at which point he will ask them if they are ready or not. A voting dialog comes up on the screens of players who are currently in the room. If they are not yet ready to fight, Olympus settles down and will ask again in 2-3 minutes. If they are, he steps down from his throne and moves to the center of the room, at which point the battle will begin.

Battle[]

This battle is a multi-stage battle.

Phase 1[]

Initially, Olympus will raise his Annihilator hand and fire off a shot, and the arena's tiles begin moving up and down between three levels in 5x5 areas. Players can drop down from a higher level to a lower level, however they cannot move to a higher level unless the height of the first tile is equal to or slightly lower than that of the adjoining tile. The tiles move slowly, so it is easy to get from one tile to another (usually.) This changes if Olympus uses the tiles to attack. Olympus moves around as normal, but can use his Sprayer barrels to obtain a speed boost to charge at players or for better mobility. They can fire all at once or independent of each other.

Attacks:

  • Mega Strike: Olympus fires off three homing Annihilator shots OR sweeps his Blaster barrel back and forth. Remember that the Blaster weapon has a very limited bullet range, but it does very high damage up close. In the case of the three Annihilator shots, there is nothing special about them other than that they home in on players and will not disappear unless destroyed.
  • Balkan Burner: The Blaster barrel releases a straight shot of bullets forward like a long-range flamethrower, inflicting Burning for 7 seconds on contact. This attack has the range of a 7 bullet speed Sniper.
  • Heat Vision: The laser pod eye thing releases 6 auto-lock lasers that target the 6 closest things to Olympus. These lasers increase in damage over time like Clash Royale Inferno Towers and have a final DPS of 100 after 7 seconds, so get out of range quickly!
  • Flip Flop: Olympus flips the Annihilator hand around and creates a line of immovable and invincible traps, an attack shared by a lot of bosses. However, after 5 seconds, these traps turn purple, start spinning rapidly, and charge at players to deal 100 damage before disappearing!
  • Orbitals: Olympus pumps out 6 random Nest Defenders of any size or type from his drone barrel. Once all of them are destroyed, Olympus will use Orbitals again. He can still use other attacks during this time.
  • Firestrike: 120 Missiles (the ones fired by the Artillery weapon on the War Machine III, not the Skimmer's bullets) are released out of the drone spawner and chase down players.
  • Destron Cull: The Blaster barrel is flipped around to the Vacuum barrel, and Olympus uses it to suck up everything in a large area regardless of size or type. Once all things are clogged in the barrel, he fires it out with a gust of air to break the ball of tanks and ammunition, dealing near-lethal damage to anything that was unfortunate to get caught in the ball's path or the ball itself.
  • Ball Wave: Charges at the largest group or concentration of players with his Sprayer barrels and punishes them with a bullet to the face. Heavy damage is inflicted, of course. Usually guarantees the death of all players involved unless they are using a rammer build.
  • Dugout Three: Slams the ground with both of his hands, causing players to be launched into the air and dealing fall damage to them. The moving tiles involved stop moving when the shockwave hits them and will begin moving again after 4 seconds of their movement being interrupted.

Phase 2[]

Phase 2 is entered at 150,000 health. Olympus's laser eye falls off, and he picks it up and attaches it to his Blaster hand. The normal eye underneath is unaffected, remember that the laser eye is worn like a monocle of sorts. He also receives a cracked effect around the edges of his body and hands. The floor tiles stop moving after the transition.

  • Heat Vision: The laser pod releases 6 auto-lock lasers that target the 6 closest things to Olympus.
  • Orbitals II: Olympus pumps out 10 random Nest Defenders of any size or type from his drone barrel. Once all of them are destroyed, Olympus will use Orbitals again. He can still use other attacks during this time.
  • Firestrike II: 160 Missiles (the ones fired by the Artillery weapon on the War Machine III, not the Skimmer's bullets) are released out of the drone spawner and chase down players. Also will spawn 40 Tears of Panzer just to be annoying.
Since tiles are no longer moving, no need to have any mention of them here.
  • Regatta Round: Flips his Annihilator barrel around and fires off one bullet that increases in size and speed as it travels, to is maximum size of a Dominator tank body. The bullet has infinite penetration and does the same damage as a Destroyer's maxed out bullet, like a Dominator's bullet. Touching it means instant death, and it's pretty hard to dodge.
  • Polysummon: Summons a random standard polygon boss, either the Summoner, Defender, Guardian, or the Leviathan. Will not summon another until 3 minutes after the previous has been killed.
  • Takeout: Fires off seven shots with the Annihilator barrel, which remain stationary in an arc in front of him. Olympus then uses the Vacuum barrel to fire off a burst of air to propel the bullets forward, which act normal afterwards.
  • Crush Blast: Olympus jumps into the air. When and where he lands is random, but when he does he releases a ring of 32 Destroyer bullets that inflicted Paralyzed, Stunned, Broken, Weakened, Burned, Confused, and Blinded for 12 seconds on contact as well as dealing heavy damage. Rarely used.
  • Conceived Pain: Marks the transition to Stage 3. Olympus swaps his weapons from hand to hand, switching them around. He then calls down lightning from the heavens to deal damage to everyone in the room, equal to 1/2 of their max health.

Stage 3[]

BGM: Same as Phases 1 and 2

Phase 3 is entered at 55,000 health. Olympus is on the ropes, having Armored for the rest of the fight. There are more cracks on his body, although they are barely noticeable. He also moves 125% faster, and is more unpredictable while charging.

Attacks:

  • Mega Strike II: Olympus fires off five homing Annihilator shots AND sweeps his Blaster barrel back and forth. Remember that the Blaster weapon has a very limited bullet range, but it does very high damage up close. In the case of the three Annihilator shots, they home in on players and will not disappear unless destroyed They deal fatal damage on contact, too. Luckily, they're slow.
  • Balkan Burner II: The Blaster barrel releases a straight shot of bullets forward like a long-range flamethrower, this time with a wide, dense spread and inflicting Burning and Broken for 12 seconds on contact. This attack has the range of a 7 bullet speed Assassin.
  • Heat Vision II: The laser pod eye thing releases 12 auto-lock lasers that target the 6 closest things to Olympus. These lasers increase in damage over time like Clash Royale Inferno Towers and have a final DPS of 100 after 7 seconds, so get out of range quickly!
  • Flip Flop II: Olympus flips the Annihilator hand around and creates a longer and thicker line of immovable and invincible traps, a type of attack shared by a lot of bosses. However, after 3 seconds, these traps turn green, start spinning rapidly, and charge at players to deal 150 damage before disappearing!
  • Orbitals III: Olympus pumps out 12 random Nest Defenders of any size or type from his drone barrel. Once all of them are destroyed, Olympus will use Orbitals again. He can still use other attacks during this time. He also will produce 10 random types of Crashers with every Nest Defender, as well as summoning 5 Tears of Panzer.
  • Firestrike III: 120 Missiles (the ones fired by the Artillery weapon on the War Machine III, not the Skimmer's bullets) are released out of the drone spawner and chase down players.
  • Destron Cull II: The Blaster barrel is flipped around to the Vacuum barrel, and Olympus uses it to suck up everything in a large area regardless of size or type. Once all things are clogged in the barrel, he fires it out with a gust of air to break the ball of tanks and ammunition, dealing near-lethal damage to anything that was unfortunate to get caught in the ball's path or the ball itself. Now, everything that survives will still have Broken for 15 seconds. Fortunately, this attack has a lower chance to be selected from the attack pool now due to its lethality.
  • Ball Wave II : Charges at the largest group or concentration of players with his Sprayer barrels and punishes them with a bullet to the face. Heavy damage is inflicted, but it's lower than Ball Wave. 3 Punchers are spawned on impact instead, and have a lifetime of 35 seconds or until they are destroyed.
  • Dugout Three II: Slams the ground with both of his hands, causing players to be launched into the air and dealing fall damage to them. He slams the ground 3 times, and fall damage is even higher than before.
  • Regatta Round II: Flips his Annihilator barrel around and fires off one bullet that increases in size and speed as it travels, to is maximum size of a Dominator tank body. The bullet has infinite penetration and does the same damage as a Destroyer's maxed out bullet, like a Dominator's bullet. Touching it means instant death, and on top it that it homes in on targets. Luckily, it has a lifetime of only 12 seconds.
  • Polysummon II: Summons a random standard polygon boss. It can be anything, even the Nonation! Panzer forbid he summon forth the Messenger! Won't spawn another until 2 minutes have passed after the previous was killed.
  • Takeout II: Fires off eleven shots with the Annihilator barrel, which remain stationary in an arc in front of him. Olympus then uses the Vacuum barrel to fire off a burst of air to propel the bullets forward, which home in on tanks afterwards.
  • Crush Blast II: Olympus jumps into the air. When and where he lands is random, but when he does he releases a ring of 40 Destroyer bullets that inflicted Paralyzed, Stunned, Weakened, Burned, Confused, and Blinded for 15 seconds on contact as well as dealing heavy damage. Somewhat more commonly usd than before, but still rare.
  • Fireball Storm: Attack stolen from the Archprophet. A ring of 8 fireballs is summoned out of thin air from around him, and they move around him in a ring in increasing speed. After 10 seconds, he fires them out at players in seemingly random trajectories which are in truth slightly aimed. Fireballs bounce off walls 3 times before disappearing.

Defeat Animation[]

Olympus crumples to the ground, his Sprayer barrels releasing fire and then sputtering smoke. He then proclaims that the players gave him a worthy fight, and disappears in a white flash. All players that participated get a tan glow around them for the next 3 days when they join other servers and in the Realm.

Trivia[]

  • A boss originally unique in that some of his attacks power up between phases, but with the advent of the Polygon Disciples, he's not so unique anymore.
  • Used to be the first Extended Tale of Diep Legendary Boss. However, as of now, he has been moved to Realm Boss.
