The Overangle is one of the Tier 4 upgrades from Tri-Angle. It features a gun mounted upon the front for offensive purposes while the tank is being boosted by its two rear auxiliary guns. It features two drone spawners that spawn four drones that follow behind you like a tail while boosting. The Overangle has no upgrades as of now. This tank was created by Toriellabella with artistic contributions from ItzDracius.
Design[]
The Overangle features a circular body as a base. Mounted on the front is a singular Cannon that is the same size as Tank's cannon. Mounted on the back are two smaller cannons, which are spread apart; These cannons are the same size as Flank Guard's rear cannon. Mounted on the sides are two trapezoidal Drone spawners. All of this to say it's a direct combination of Tri-Angle and Overseer in appearance.
Technical[]
The Overangle's front cannon works exactly as Tank's front cannon with one difference, which is that recoil is lessened. This is so that the two rear cannons may propel the tank at the same speed as Tri-Angle. The two side spawners spawn AI controlled Drones which, while not boosting, wander around the tank and attack enemies, just like the AI controlled drones that Hybrid and Overspammer uses. There may be 4 drones maximum, which makes this tank a useful offensive attacker even while not actively boosting. There likely is a question in your mind, asking "wouldn't the drones fall behind while boosting"? Yes, normally they would. That's why the work differently with this tank. While you are actively boosting, the drones will trail up behind you, acting as a sort of tail. This tail may be used as a sort of "whip" while you are boosting. Newly spawned drones get added to the end of the tail, and if a drone in this tail dies the other drones quickly fill up the empty space left behind. When you stop boosting, this tail collapses and becomes normal drones again.
Strategy[]
- Strong Against: MultiBox, Assassin branch tanks, distracted tanks, Auto 3 branch tanks, Smasher branch tanks.
- Weak Against: Trapper branch tanks, Destroyer branch tanks, Spammer branch tanks
As the Overangle[]
- If you're dealing with a MultiBox, know that you can use your tail of drones to your advantage, as you can swipe at them from a distance to clear their drones. After that, you can try ramming into the central tank.
- If you get up close and personal with an Assassin tank, you can easily kill them utilizing your offensive tail. You'll have a harder time with Seeker, however, as it's very much possible that their three bullets can shred your tail to bits, leaving you defenseless unless you've invested in body damage.
- If you're dealing with Auto 5, one thing to keep in mind is that you should always move parallel to the tank instead of rushing towards it. This ensures that their bullets won't collide with yours. Be sure you're turned towards them as well, so that your tail is protected. Once you get close enough, you can easily swipe and run your drones straight through them.
- While normally, Smashers are very dangerous towards a Booster and Fighter, to an Overangle a Smasher can be considered as a free kill if you've got a tail with you. Mega Smasher and Spike are especially weak, since if they get arrogant and get close, you can swipe and your drones will likely do enough damage to leave them with very little health, if not outright kill them.
Against the Overangle[]
- Tanks such as Mega Trapper can easily shred through an Overangle due to their massive Trap size. If one is boosting towards you, you can essentially one tap them.
- Similarly, tanks such as Annihilator can utilize their large bullets to break a Overangle in one or two hits. Just be careful of the tail, as they can and will use it to try and swipe at you from a distance.
- Certain Spammer branch tanks, such as Streamliner and Overspammer, can utilize their focused fire to absolutely shred through an Overangle.
- Automaton can be considered as a hard counter, due to it being entirely possible that one of its guns can point at individual units of an Overangle's tail and take them out with ease, leaving them defenseless as you target them head on, pill style.
- Tanks like Glider, even if they miss, can use their auxiliary bullets to shred through an enemy Overangle's tail; If they get a direct hit on the Overangle, they're essentially dead.
Trivia[]
- Overangle's name is a portmanteau between Overseer and Tri-Angle.
- This marks the second usage of a lazily made combination name in my concepts, the first being Overspammer
- The original 2016 Overangle image has a typo in the filename, making the tank's name "Overangpe".
- The original version of this page easily had the most bloated strategy section of any of my early pages, likely a result of directly copying information from the Tri-Angle, Booster, and Fighter pages as they were in December 2016.
