- paint is my favorite drink.
The Paint Roller is one of the Tier 4 upgrades from Smasher. It may not upgrade any further. The Paint Roller features a giant roller mounted in front of it that can lay down temporary paint, which can hurt enemies! This tank was made by Toriellabella.
Design[]
The Paint Roller features a circular body as a base. It has two "arms" on its side that hold a large paint roller. In-game, this paint roller has a spinning animation! By default your paint roller is gray, but you can change its colors (shown in the gallery)!
From Smasher[]
When upgrading from Smasher, you ditch the shell entirely and replace it with a paint roller.
Technical[]

A Hunter fighting a Paint Roller and another mysterious tank..
- If you kill any Polygon with your paint roller, you gain paint for a temporary amount of time!
- You can't get another paint color until your current one runs out.
- The rarer the polygon, the longer the paint lasts and the more damage it does! Old paint gradually fades away, and the more it's faded the less damage it does.
- Your body damage stat influences how much damage the paint does as well.
- If you don't have any paint, the roller itself can still deal damage!
- Your body damage stat is also your roller's damage stat.
Strategy[]
- Strong Against: Overseer branch tanks, Assassin branch tanks, Smasher branch tanks, slow tanks
- Weak Against: High rate of fire tanks, Tri-Angle branch, Destroyer branch, Invisibility tanks
As Paint Roller[]
- You have a surprising advantage over Overseer branch tanks, since they rely on their drones following you! When fighting tanks like Necromancer or Factory, they can barely hit you as a result of your damaging paint trail and your speed (you are a Smasher branch tank, after all!).
- Assassin branch tanks would have to break through your paint to get a clean shot at you. Since you'll likely always have your paint on you, this won't ever be a problem for you! If they shoot at you, they've given away their location, meaning that you can kill them easily.
- Smasher branch tanks will be gently slowed down by your paint trail, meaning you can easily run over them and kill them!
- Slow tanks in general aren't going to be able to really hit you that well. Trapper branch tanks in particular are easy to pick off, since their traps will die to your roller.
Against Paint Roller[]
- If you're a tank like Triplet or Streamliner, you can easily just keep firing at an enemy Paint Roller until they drop dead. Just point and click.
- If you're fast enough, you can quickly barrage a Paint Roller as a Fighter or just ram into them as a Booster!
- As a Destroyer, all you have to do to kill a Paint Roller is shoot them with your bullet; In terms of dodging shots, they have to get lucky every time; You only have to get lucky once.
- Another way to deal with a Paint Roller is to just simply not be seen. As an invisible Landmine you can wait until they get close, and you can ram into them!
- The easiest way to deal with a Paint Roller is to kill the polygons around them so that they can't get any paint. If they don't have any paint, they're defenseless.
Trivia[]
- Surprisingly not based on anything Splatoon related.
