The Shotgun is one of the Tier 4 upgrades from Hunter. It features two Hunter barrels mounted side by side in Twin fashion. Each set of guns fires two bullets, in the same way that Hunter does, with one set delayed by half to match Twin's firing pattern. The Shotgun has no upgrades as of now. This tank was created by Toriellabella.

Design[]

The Shotgun features a circular body as a base. Mounted on the front are two sets of guns, separated evenly so that each set is right next to each other. Each set features two guns, one of them being the size of Tank's gun and the other one being slightly smaller so that it fits inside neatly.

From Hunter[]

The width of the front guns is decreased to match the overall width of Tank's gun, and a copy of that set of guns is mounted next to the original set.

Technical[]

Each set of guns has a specific reload cycle; The smaller cannon shoots first, then the bigger cannon shoots just a few moments after that. After some time has passed, this repeats. Each clump of bullets is not streamlined and is close together, exactly how Hunter works. The set on the left fires immediately upon holding the firing button, which is to be expected. The second set, the one on the right, shoots half a reload cycle later, effectively doubling Hunter's firing rate. Recoil rate is decreased as well, so that the tank doesn't actively work against you when you move forward and shoot at the same time.

Strategy[]

As The Shotgun[]

  • Most rammers, with exceptions such as Landmine, will have a hard time fighting against a Shotgun due to its doubled reload and damage potential. If you can aim well as a Shotgun, you can fight against rammers with a few quick blasts. Smashers are easy to deal with but Fighter can be tricky to deal with, since they can strafe to the side and fire at you easily. If you can aim, however, you can easily blast through them.
  • When fighting Destroyer branch tanks, be sure to not let them get close to you, otherwise they might wipe you off the face of the Earth. Be sure to fire at them from a distance between their shots so they can't run away.
  • Spreading tanks like Octo Tank can be dealt with easily, since your persistent rounds can penetrate through their surrounding bullet walls.
  • Tanks in Shotgun's own branch can be countered by Shotgun, such as Predator. Predator's firepower, while immense, is just barely weaker than Shotgun's due to its increased fire rate. Just keep pummeling and you'll beat them.
  • Due to Assassin's poor reload and due to Shotgun's FOV (despite it being slightly less), a Shotgun can easily pummel any Ranger or Stalker.
  • Most tanks that are left alone and surprised can be easily overwhelmed by Shotgun's constant barrage of attacks. Self explanatory, aim and fire.

Against The Shotgun[]

  • As a Fighter, or a tank that acts very similar to it, you should make sure you move faster than the Shotgun can deal with. Be sure to use your side cannons to fight off the enemy Shotgun.
  • Drone tanks are a pain for enemy Shotguns to deal with. Manager especially, since you can easily maneuver your drones behind a Shotgun without them knowing where exactly you are. Just be sure you are invisible before they see you.
  • Necromancer is likely one of the best counters to Shotgun. If you have built up enough squares, you can easily hammer your way through a Shotgun's blasting and directly kill them.
  • Triplet's persistent firing rate can easily dislodge most direct shots from a Shotgun. Penta Shot and Spread Shot aren't as good at this, but they can still do the job if they really need to do so.
  • While Trappers might not be an intuitive pick, tanks like Mega Trapper have projectiles that can block the Shotgun's firepower. Due to Mega Trapper's trap size, it can be considered a direct counter.
  • A good majority of Shotguns might be arrogant and decide to pick fights with multiple people. Shotgun's biggest weakness, however, is the fact that it can't really shoot in more than one direction. If someone can flank it, the Shotgun might as well be dead.

Trivia[]

  • This tank has no relation to Arras' Dual as this page was initially made before Dual was released.
  • Initially, right after this page came out in late 2016, I was going to make a boss for it called Shogun, based off of Edo Japan's Shogunate. I, however, flunked so badly while making the page that as soon as I published it I asked for it to be deleted. Which it was.
