The Spam Flank is one of the Tier 5 upgrade options from Spread Shot, Streamliner, and Axolotl. The Spam Flank features a streamlined set of guns mounted upon one side with a spread of guns mounted on the other side. The Spam Flank also features a special right click ability. The Spam Flank has no upgrades as of now. This tank was made by Toriellabella.
Design[]
The Spam Flank features a circular body as a base. On one side it features the barrel setup that Streamliner has, which is five guns of the same width overlapping each other on the front. On the other side, it features Spread Shot's barrel setup, which consists of a Tank's gun mounted on the front with two sets of five Cannons, each set being mounted to the left side and the right side of the main Tank gun.
From Streamliner and Spread Shot[]
Upon upgrading from Streamliner or Spread Shot, the other tank's setup is automatically added to the opposing side.
From Axolotl[]
Upon upgrading from Axolotl, the front Twin section is replaced with a Streamliner setup.
Technical[]
Both sides of the tank work exactly the same as its constituent parts; Streamliner shoots a constant thin stream of Bullets, Spread Shot shoots a spread of bullets. You, the reader[1] might have noticed that up to this point I have neglected to mention which tank was in the front. This is where the special right click ability comes in.
When you upgrade from Streamliner or Spread Shot, that respective tank's side becomes the front; If you upgrade from Streamliner, the front side would be the Streamliner side and the back would be Spread Shot. You can switch between these two constituent halves, however, by pressing right click. The tank will rotate clockwise until the opposing side reaches the mouse cursor, effectively allowing you to switch between the two halves. Of course, both halves remain functional, so if you need some back defense utilizing the Spread Shot side, you can still hold left click to fire those Cannons.
Now, remember when I said just a few sentences ago? The tank will rotate clockwise until the opposing side reaches the mouse cursor. What if you move the mouse away so that it never reaches it? Well, the tank will start spinning faster so that it can reach the mouse cursor. But what if you keep moving the mouse away? It's very VERY hard to do so, because this speed will eventually become so fast that it'll do hundreds of spins in less than a second, but if you are enough of a god to accomplish this[2], or are just simply crazy, you will obtain a new option: Spin mode.
Spin Mode is a mode only unlockable by outrunning the spinning action of Spam Flank for a good 5 minutes. During those 5 minutes, the tank will reach up to speeds of 90,000 full rotations per second, so good luck trying to even get this. The blatantly overpowered Spin Mode is now permanently unlocked for you. You can use it to...
Wait, this is the Spam Flank article.
I am not writing a page for Spin Mode. I refuse.
Strategy[]
- Strong Against: Large amounts of weak enemies, singular medium enemies, slow tanks, drone classes.
- Weak Against: Invisibility tanks, Battleship
As The Spam Flank[]
- If you are facing off against Drone tanks, be sure to cover your sides. Or utilize your spinning to your advantage. Be extra careful around Factory, as the mini-bullets fired from the Factory's minions can easily ruin your day.
- Due to your advanced firing rate, you can easily dismantle trap nests laid out by Tri-Trappers and Mega Trappers. Any kind of traps can be dealt with, just make sure that you don't run into them.
- Slow firing branch Destroyer tanks, such as Hybrid and Annihilator can easily be dealt with between shots due to your insane rate of fire. Just keep at it, and keep your distance, until they are defeated.
- Auto Gunners beware, as your bullet stream can easily go through theirs if they have even a middling build. Even a good build can be wrecked if you're persistent enough and keep switching which side you are using.
- Any Smasher branch tank is a dangerous enemy that you should keep as FAR away from you as possible. Just keep firing until they are scared off or until their defeat. Just be wary against Landmines.
- In team modes you should always have a Seeker by your side so that they can detect invisible tanks for you. Be sure to cherish each Seeker that helps you.
Against The Spam Flank[]
- The Spam Flank has two obvious weak points; The sides. A good invisibility player can easily wreck their day by choosing a ramming option, such as Landmine.
- If you are playing as Skimmer, Rocketeer, or Glider, you can easily use your smaller bullets to work as chip damage to slowly destroy an opponent Spam Flank.
- One good way to kill an enemy Spam Flank is to play as any Assassin upgrade, preferably Ranger or Nouveau Tower. Due to the immense FOV boost, you can easily wipe the floor with a Spam Flank if you hit the obvious weak points.
- Tanks like Triplet and Penta Shot work well against the Spam Flank. Your bullet cloud can penetrate through theirs very easily, no matter which side they pick. Their spinning won't be able to do anything against your firing as well, since that'll just turn them into a bootleg Octo Tank.
- If you are part of the Tri-Angle branch, especially Fighter, you can strafe along the side of a Spam Flank and easily land shots. If you are a Booster, you can take the risk and plummet right into them. Only issue is that you have to get close to them.
- Or you could just play Battleship.
