This is one of the many Boss Tanks that can spawn in Fortresses. It is the Boss Tank version of the Mystic. Idea by Diepmon. Integrated and created off ideas by Zathsu.

Design

The Templar's low health makes him a mediocre opponent. He looks like a pentagon with two drone spawners on the leading side, while also having a mirrored thunderbolt on his body. On the other sides there are three circles, similar to the original Mystic. The point between the two drone barrels has two Assassin barrels to the direct left and right of the point. Between the totem spawners, there also are two Machine Gun barrels.

Attacks

All positive totems only affect the Templar. Negative totems only affect players. All totems have a radius of 10 tiles. A maximum of 6 totems (positive or negative) can be down at one given time. Positive Totems last for 20 seconds, while negative totems last for 7 seconds. He is quite likely to move outside of the positive totem range, but will attempt to place totems as close to tanks as he can, leaving him open to attack. If tanks go outside the totem range, the debuff or buff will immediately end. Debuff totems are placed using the side circles, buff totems are placed using the centered circle.

Totem Placements

Totem of Resilience: He places down a totem that gives him the Armored buff.

Totem of Power: He places down a totem that gives him the Strength buff.

Totem of Speed: He places down a totem that gives him the Hasty buff.

Totem of Addition: He places down a totem that gives him the Helping Hand buff.

Totem of Energy: He places down a totem that gives him the Frenzy buff. Lasts for 7 seconds instead of 30.

Totem of Shattering: He places down a totem that gives the Broken debuff.

Totem of Slowing: He places down a totem that gives the Slowed debuff.

Totem of Paralysis: He places down a totem that gives the Paralyzed debuff.

Totem of Flame: He places down a totem that gives the Burned debuff.

Totem of Disabling: He places down a totem that gives the Stunned debuff.

Totem of Blinding: He places down a totem that gives the Blinded debuff.

Totem of Confusion: He places down a totem that gives the Dazed debuff.

Totem of Distraction: He places down a totem that gives the Unfocused debuff.

Totem of Weakening: He places down a totem that gives the Weakened debuff.

Other Attacks

Swarm: The drone barrel spits out Crashers. Of these, 1/6 will be Large Crashers, 1/3 will be Small Crashers, and 1/2 will be Tiny Crashers (the kind that come from the Guardian.)

Celestial Beam: The two Assassin barrels flash white and fire long white laser beams that have a glow effect. These have infinite penetration and end upon hitting the Fortress walls.

Total Pursuit: While still placing totems, the Templar fires on tanks with its Assassin barrels and speeds around using its Machine Gun barrels. This is a behavior that is used for long periods of time between its special attacks.

Trivia

  • An annoying boss fight, to say the least. So many debuffs at once means high-regeneration tanks will fare well, as well as hit-and-run tactics using a rammer build.
  • If you look at the design closely, you'll see it sort of resembles an electrical plug. At least the kind that you'll find in North America, anyway.
