The Time Machine is one of the Tier 4 upgrades from Flank Guard. This tank is a tier skip, meaning that you have to level up from level 15 directly level 45 as a Flank Guard. It features two cannons as side protection. This tank, as the name implies, has the capacity for limited time travel. The Time Machine has no upgrades as of now. This tank was created by Toriellabella.

Design[]

The Time Machine features a square body as a base. Mounted upon the left and right sides of the tank are two Cannons that are the same size as Flank Guard's rear cannon.

From Flank Guard[]

Your back cannon is placed upon the left and right sides, your other cannons disappear, and your previously circular body morphs into a square, utilizing the same animation that Overseer has when it upgrades into Necromancer.

Technical[]

The Time Machine has two Cannons mounted on both sides. These cannons fire Bullets like normal, with the same stats as Tank's bullets. The big question that you should be asking is why these cannons are mounted on the sides and not on the front and back. The reason why the cannons are mounted like this can be founds in its ability; Time Matrix.

Time Matrix[]

The Time Machine's ability, named Time Matrix, is a specialized ability that is meant to exist alongside Invisibility and Predator's zoom ability. This ability allows you to see trails of enemy tanks, bullets, and polygons. These trails exist as transparent versions of these tanks that are blurred across time, and become more transparent the further back in time you go. The furthest that these trails can go back for is 2 seconds. Images of tanks that are older than 2 seconds simply fade away. If you hit these trails, you deal damage to the thing that made that trail. This damage scales to time as well, so the older the image the less damage you'll deal to it. This is the reason why the barrels are mounted to the side, so you can follow these trails and damage them to the side. However, this also inversely applies to you. You can take damage "in the past", so to speak. This damage also scales to how old the image is. These trails die off at the same time the parent enemy dies off.

Strategy[]

As the Time Machine[]

  • You can deal damage to images of Boosters and other fast tanks. Due to their speed, they'll leave behind a lengthy trail that you can easily pick on and deal damage to.
  • Hybrid's and Annihilator's bullets will leave a lengthy trail, but despite that, their recoil will leave behind a trail that you can deal damage to, which you can bend to your will.
  • Smasher branch tanks, especially Spike, will leave behind a trail. While this extends their ramming reach, you can also abuse this to make a Smasher circle around you, letting you be able to shoot their trail as it goes around you, letting you be able to knock them out with ease as you deal twice the amount of damage as Tank's bullet due to their arrogance.
  • Invisibility tanks have nothing on you, as you can see their trails follow behind them as they turn invisible, allowing you to deal damage to them not only while their invisible, but also while they're not even close to you, letting you safely get away if they do notice you. Landmine is especially weak towards Time Machine for this reason.

Against the Time Machine[]

  • Trapper branch tanks are especially deadly to a Time Machine. Traps move fast and become stationary. If you are a Tri-Trapper, you can effectively protect yourself for an eternity against an enemy Time Machine. Overtrapper is especially deadly, due to its Drones leaving behind a path that can deal immense harm towards enemy Time Machines.
  • If you are a Ranger and you shoot at a Time Machine, your bullet will naturally leave a trail. This becomes extremely deadly once you realize that high velocity bullet can pierce through a Time Machine, and the trail will still leave damage. If you get one good hit in, they are as good as dead.
  • If you are a Necromancer and you use the claw method against a Time Machine, they are a goner. Sure, your drones will leave behind a substantial trail, but if you use the Time Machine's empty front end to your advantage, you can bomb rush your drones straight through them and let the trail do the work for you.
  • High reload tanks, such as Auto Gunner, Streamliner, and Octo Tank can effectively become impenetrable bullet clouds. Streamliner can abuse this with ease by turning back and forth to create a wide trailing arc of bullets that can easily kill off a Time Machine... Granted they don't aim for your trail, first.

Trivia[]

  • This tank had a file listed under the name "Timemachine.jpg". During the wikia merge, however, this file was lost. This file counts as lost media as a result, as I have not saved any of my prior images and the tablet I made the original images on is sadly comatose.
  • The original page counts the time matrix as a quantifiable weapon, which would imply the existence of an upgrade with more of these time matrices.
    • This idea might be revised in the future. If you see Time Machine II, that's what it'll likely be.
