The Tje spongler is one of the 87 current upgrades from Mothership. This tank is the only tank that requires the player to skip more than one tier, having to skip 12 tiers after upgrading into Mothership, eventually upgrading into this tank at level 315. It may further upgrade into Auto Smasher.
Design[]
The Tje spongler features a circular body with a spiral-like barrel that surrounds half of the tank on one side. The spiral will be clockwise or counterclockwise at seemingly random[2].
Technical[]
Like its predecessor, Tje spongler can ram into itself. It builds on that ability by allowing it to damage itself, imitating two Motherships colliding. Its health is increased and its speed is decreased. The damage dealt will always kill you in 32 shots. Unlike its predecessor, Tje spongler does not inherent Mothership's drones. Its reload is 16 times greater than a single Mothership spawner, similar to how Manager doubles its firerate due to losing a spawner after upgrading from Overseer. The main advantage of Tje spongler is taking advantage of other tanks, making them think that you are two Motherships colliding into each other, therefore making it seem as if the gamemode is about to end.

- Strong Against: Invisible tanks, singular enemies, area denial tanks.
- Weak Against: Any player with a brain
As Tje spongler[]
- Your main strength is what makes players fearful of Motherships; The gamemode ending before anything happens. For anyone who is not well acquainted with dealing with Tje spongler, you can easily damage yourself with your spiral shaped gun to instill superiority by nearly killing yourself, making them move out of your way due to the fact that they think that the gamemode will end if you die.
- For Destroyer branch tanks, you can easily strafe around your bullets. 50% of the time, they will aim for your barrel instead, due to the fact that your tank has secret psyops that make them think that you are two Motherships colliding.
- For tanks with invisibility, you can rest assured that none of them will be able to even touch you. They will be invisible most of the time and will not move due to their fear.
- If you are only dealing with one enemy, you can ram into them due to your superior ram stats. Spikes do still have a leg up on you due to their increased body damage, so be sure you have enough health to be able to take the hit.
- All Tri-Angle tanks are too smart to fall for the clever psyop of you being two Motherships. However, due to their arrogance, they will always ram into you anyway. Be sure to move away from them as they do so for comedic effect.
- Trappers and area denial tanks will automatically be on your side, as, in their mind, at least one of the Motherships is on their team.
- Most Overseer branch tanks will repel their Drones, thinking that they are smart. However, they are leaving themselves open for a Trapper to kill them for you.
Against Tje spongler[]
- The main weakness of Tje spongler is being smart enough to understand that the gamemode won't end. The only tank that can do this is Battleship. If you are playing as any other tank, you cannot defeat Tje spongler. It's literally impossible. Do not even try. All other tanks have substandard intelligence. Battleship will play chess with Tje spongler, only for Tje spongler to reveal that they were playing 3d chess, only for Battleship to reveal that they were actually playing Diep.io and chess does not exist, therefore wiping Tje spongler out of existence.

- Despite all other Mothership upgrades not being coded by any of the developers and are thus unknown to the playerbase at large, this one has been hardcoded and discovered in a dump of the client wasm, similar to methods done to extract tanks from certain clones of Diep.io, such as Diep.io Mobile, Diep.io Mobile, Diep.io Mobile, and Diep.io Mobile.
