Partly inspired by TheTriplet's Splash Guard! (their idea is really good) I have changed quite a few things to make it different
The Wave is a Tier 2 tank that attacks by using its unique wave, as its name suggests. It upgrades from the Basic, and it will upgrade to Tidal Wave, Spiked Wave, Double Wave and Waveception (at level 45).
Design[]
It looks like a basic tank without the barrel, but with two circles on top, one light grey and one light blue. Very simple, right?
Technical[]
Its barrel has turned into a wave weapon, which will shoot a wave that spreads in all directions. It has infinite pentration, but only about 1/3 of the basic bullet's damage and a slightly slower speed. Reload is is also 150% longer. The wave also knocks back enemies and polygons a bit when in contact. All "bullet" stats are changed to "wave". Wave penetration now increases the knockback made by the wave. The light blue barrel on top will be darkened after you attack, indicating that you need to reload. After it reloads, it will become light blue again. Oh and also the wave can go though walls (but not a base).
Strategy[]
- Strengths: Low bullet speed tanks, teamers, Trapper branch, Destroyer branch
- Weaknesses: Fast rammers, Focus fire tanks, High FoV tanks, Lazer branch
As the Wave[]
- It does a very nice job at dealing splash damage. Very nice job.
- It is very good at farming and killing crashers, as the wave has infinite penetration.
- The wave actually does more damage than you thought, as it cannot be weakened by other bullets, and the wave pushes the enemy back, making them take more hits from the Wave.
- If there are many targets (ammunition and tanks), it doesn't matter a lot, as the wave can weaken all the bullets and damage all the tanks at once.
- Beawre of Streamliners and Snipers, as they have fast bullets that can easily kill you.
- This tank can be played as a support tank, where you can weaken the enemy's attack and also damage them a bit, allowing your teammate to outgun them.
- Having 2 or more Waves in a team can be insanely strong, as the waves can demolish any entities and tanks in the wave radius with ease.
- This tank excels in Maze modes, as the wave can go through walls, and you can trap people using your giant wave.
- Don't get cornered, or you are most likely to die.
Against the Wave[]
- Try to get some good hits in when the wave is reloading.
- Snipers are a very good counter to this tank, as snipers have more range and FoV.
- Ram it when it is reloading. Even if it gets a hit in and knocks you back a bit, you simply have a lot of health, and they don't have any recoil.
- Swarm tanks can also easily defeat this tank, as the swarms are fast.
- If you see a team of tanks with a Wave in the team, try to defeat it as fast as you can, as their attacks will chip your health away.
- Sometimes, it is better to charge straight into the wave, as it will hit you almost everytime and rushing into it can reduce the damage taken from the wave.
