Bio I am a 17-year-old Lebanese Fandom advisor, councilor and developer who mostly is interested in Pixel Gun, Bloons, and MANY other games. I also am a fan of Let Me Explain Studios and Flow Free, which is why I decided to create a wiki for each of those topics. I also have my own wiki (justleafy.wikia.com) if you would like to visit it someday.
Hello there, <insert name here> and welcome to my message wall! In here, you can leave me a message if you have any questions about me or just want to message me in general. You can message me in English, in French or in Arabic, whatever you like. Here are some quick links:
Hey JustLeafy, I hope you are doing good. I'm a new editor the the FANDOM community and have created a community for a group of users. I was checking other communities for some ideas in templates and other stuffs. I found this and your JustLeafy wiki and I'm really impressed with the designing, the contents y'all have put in there! I checked the community page and found a few badges are not the official wiki badges but customized and used by you all on here. I willing to do the same on my community (I've found some cool developer stuffs done by you on the Dev wiki and have used them as well). Can you tell me how to customize those user rights and whether they are available the same on the discussions areas as well?
I created & implemented the custom badges back when I was a Bureaucrat here to better reflect our heavily modified user groups (such modifications are very rarely granted by Fandom Staff). The badges themselves, however, are simple SVGs implemented with CSS (& this script) that anyone can replicate. The CSS is located in MediaWiki:Staff.css, & pulls the badges from my sandbox Wiki (as you can see with the badge URLs, such as vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/ursuul/images/5/57/Code.svg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/72). The icons you see on the Pokémon Wiki Main Page that you Admin also come from that sandbox Wiki, coincidentally.
I understand what you are saying, Ursuul. But sadly, I'm not good with CSS codes. I've checked the page that you have provided to me and there are a lot of commands used in it. There are the commands that I'd not need as well, but I won't be able to figure it out. I've created badges for the staff members myself, can you please tell me a better place to share the badges and perhaps help me a bit with these commands? If you help me adding the badges for the Bureaucrats only, I'd do it myself for the other staff members. This is my message wall.
Also, here is some explanation for each of the sections:
Preliminary styles: Those styles are the core and common styles made to make the badge receive its styles.
Former staff styles: Those styles (gray username color) are applied to every former staff on this wiki. Though, the styles are actually automatically applied to everyone so that one can remove just the current staff styles and without manually adding the former staff styles. Former bureaucrats have a black username color.
Staff styles: Those styles (different username colors) are applied to current staff on the wiki, depending on the color of the role.
Irregular styles: These are generally smaller and more miscellaneous styles applied to staff and/or their features.
To explain the first set of styles, they basically give me and GellyPop the white color in our usernames and a bold style for our usernames. You'll have to replace all instances of "GellyPop" with "Alan_Sycamore!" and if there is another bureaucrat, replace my name with the one of the other bureaucrat. If there are even more bureaucrats, you'll have to copy and paste the first three lines for every extra bureaucrat on the wiki and put their full names on each three lines.
The second set of styles basically identifies me and GellyPop as a "SENIOR ADMINISTRATOR" on this wiki, which is also a tag put next to our names. Of course, you'll have to replace our names with the names of your bureaucrats, and if there are more than two bureaucrats, copy and paste the first two lines in those styles for each bureaucrat and put their names too.
The last set of styles simply outputs the badge icon for bureaucrats. Once again, simply replace our names with the ones of your bureaucrats, and copy and paste the first two lines in the set of styles for every bureaucrat and then put their names.
P.S. While pasting, don't forget to put a comma after every line in every class, except for the last one, where it shouldn't exist.
