Diep.io Wiki

My lads, it has been a real roller-coaster of a year for the Diep.io Wiki this has. Around this time in 2016 we had just emerged from a titanic organizational crisis & were only beginning to put the pieces back together. Now, we have gone from a peaceful slump of a recovery, to the agonizingly slow fervor of merging, & finally to yet another round of expansion with Diep2.io Diiep.io. We have a lot of work ahead of us, & a bright future full of purpose.

So, when you get back from your holidays to read the 2017 recap our editors are putting together, remember this; 2018 is going to be our best year yet.

Wiki Event News

Sandbox this Saturday! (23rd of December)[]

It will be held from 12 PM to 2 PM Eastern Time (UTC 16:00 - 18:00) in Chat as always. Since it’s during Christmas break, we really hope to see lots of people there! We can play regular Diep.io, or Diiep.io; the choice is yours!
inb4 “why not both?” *Mexican music ensues*

Diiep.io Tank Building Contest[]

The developer of Diep2.io (or Diiep.io following a naming poll) is holding a contest. People must build quality tanks, then post them on the #suggestions channel on the diiep.io dev Discord server. If you’re a conceptor with an easily summarizable tank with good imagery, join the server & submit your tank! Not only could you potentially get your tank added to the game, but you could also earn some private tokens as a reward!

Join the server!

Diep2.io rename cleanup[]

Help is needed to properly rename all instances of Diep2 to Diiep, which is the soon-to-be name of the game. Please make these corrections wherever you can!

.io Games Footer launched![]

Check out the Main Page; the Footer has been successfully established on all .io Wikias that meet the requirements. Browser games for life!

Wiki Policy News

WikiFeatures revisited followup[]

Last week we asked the community if we should revote on certain WikiFeatures changes, here are the results:

Not a single person asked for the Anonymous Editing or New Image Galleries to be disabled, so they shall be sticking around permanently until the Diep.io Wiki Administration believes that a community vote is necessary to turn them back off.

Article Comments, while it just barely managed to meet the 5-user cutoff for a revote, the three-Moderator-or-above-requirement was not met, which would be necessary to properly keep Comments in check. Therefore, a revote will not be happening for the restoration of Article Comments either, until such a time as the Diep.io Wiki Administration deems that there is both A) still a high demand for their return, and B) sufficient Staff personnel to handle their restoration, at which point a community vote will be initiated.

Tech News

(BIG) Unordered lists redesigned[]

You will likely have noticed in Changelog News the new style of <ul>s, or unordered lists. This affects the entire site, and is a purely aesthetic upgrade to help the Diep.io Wiki stand out.

If you like or dislike the new design, say so in the comments. Based on your feedback, we may change <ol>s (numerically ordered lists) or we may revert the <ul> change entirely. There are many different styles for ordered lists, like Roman numerals, Greek lettering, Latin lettering, and more, so leave your thoughts in the comments!

Main Page Blog Module redesigned[]

You may notice that the Blog lists on the main page are simpler, less boxy, and no longer have avatars. This was done to make it more similar to the Monobook Main Page design, in addition to making it more modern in general. Feedback on this change is welcome as always.

UserTags tweaked slightly[]

Following the HTTPS protocol transition that FANDOM recently released, it is important that links use relative protocols (i.e. they change based on automated factors) to provide the best experience for readers. To keep up with this, we transitioned the URLs for UserTags to use relative links instead of absolute ones. This may be repeated elsewhere throughout our code base.
